How to I find the WEP Key

The default WEP key of linksys router is found at the back of the router. Just flip the device and you will see a sticker on it, it will give you the default SSID and WEP key. If you had change it before, what you need is to directly connect your pc to the router using ethernet cable, then open a browser, type 192.168.1.1 then it will ask you for a password and username. The default username and password is Admin. if it will not work, you can try admin for username then password for password box. If it still does'n't work, then reset the router. Turn off the router for 5 seconds the turn the power on again. access the 192.168.1.1. Enter admin for both the username and password. Next, click on the Wireless tab at the top of the settings. Then click on Wireless Security subsection at the top of the page. from there, you will be able to see the WEP key that was set, that is the page as well wherein you can edit the WEP key if you want. Don't forget to click on save settings if you did some changes so that it will be applied.

Wep key

There is a reset button somewhere on the router. It's little, it's recessed, and you'll need a pencil to press it. After you do, your username will be "admin" and password will be "admin". Be sure you go back in and change it.

Where do I find the WEP key code on my modem model number 2247NWG

the network administrator (whoever configure your router) should have the wep key you're looking for, if you're that person and forgot your wepkey you need to reset your router so you can go back into the router configuration page and reset a new key (and hopefully you'll remember it next time).
here some instructions for your product:

check on page 14 (FAQ) of router's manual
resetting router to default configuration (router's manual)

I need my wep key for my netgear wireless router

The following steps will help you out in getting your wep key:-
1)Open the IE page and in the address bar type http://192.168.0.1/ or http://roterlogin.net/ , it will prompt with the small window asking for user name and password which will be admin and password respectively if not reset to something else.
2)If the default password is not working then router reset is mandatory which will terminate the internet connection and re-configuration has to be done from the beginning and after reset follow step 1 to get through the router administrator page and re-configure the entire setting's including the WEP key as well.
3)If , the default access is there then after getting into router administrator page , you will have a blue/purple column on the left hand side which has the different setting options in there.
4)Under the title set up you will find wireless setting's as one of the options so left click on that option and you will be navigated to wireless settings page.
5)Under wireless settings page we will have security option as an icon and out of the available different securities WEP will be the one that is highlighted and down at the bottom we will have five boxses for passphrase , key1 , key2 , key3 and key4.
6)The number in the key box determines your WEP key , in other words key1 box contains the WEP key .

Need to find existing WEP ID, do not want to reset my WEP ID

Flip over your ACTIONTEC and you would see there the default wep key. If you've had it personalized before, you have to open the configuration page of your modem and check for the wep key.

To go to the configuration page, open your internet explorer and type in 192.168.1.1 on the address bar. that is the default address for your actiontec. type in your username and password when prompted. the usual default it ADMIN for username and PASSWORD (lowercase) for password. or you could also try ADMIN (uname)-ADMIN(pword).

click on the wireless settings icon and then click on basic security settings. scroll down on the middle of the page and you will see there your wep key.

if you are unable to open the configuration page because you forgot your username and password, you can reset your modem so that it the uname and password will go back to its factory default settings (admin/password). However, if you are using pppoe connection (authentication using username and password to connect to network) you can lose your connection and you would have to configure your router. so be careful not to press the reset button at the back.

I can't remember by netgear wp824 password - or WEP key - would it be a number?

You can find the wireless security password by accessing the router's admin page http://192.168.1.1 (username is admin and password is password) then go to the wireless security tab. There you can find the password or WEP key (10-digit code). If you can't login to the router's admin page, you can reset the router by pressing the reset button at the back of it for 20 seconds then power cycle the router by turning it off for 10 seconds.

Setup security

To set up a network key (password to access the network), follow these steps:

Open your browser and go to 192.168.0.1
Depending on your router's model number, the username/password combination will be different. Try admin/(blank), admin/admin, or user/(blank), where (blank) is not putting in a password at all.

If you look through the tabs and option pages, you will see a section for WEP or Network Key. A 64-bit WEP key is enough, you do not need a 128-WEP or a WPA key.

Make sure you apply the settings before closing the page.
