Question about Xerox DOCUMATE 510 Flatbed Scanner

Xerox DOCUMATE 510 paperport error

Error

paprPort.exe- unable to locate component

this application failed to start because FeatureSwitch.dll was not found.
I tried re-installing the application 5 times and the problem is not fixed. I don't understand it worked fine last week

    Same problem, but with a Brother scanner. My PP 11 had worked fine but
    just stopped - PP9 wouldn't open, said Can't create PP window. I could
    not execute a good reinstall, and every time I tried, I was unable to
    create a PP window. Now, I just tried reinstalling my old PP9 and I get
    a message that FeatureSwitch.dll is missing. If I figure out a solution
    I'll let you know. I don't think you have a Xerox problem, I think you
    have a PaperPort problem.

    Following up on my previous post today: I have another computer that
    runs PP9 just fine. But there's no file on the hard drive named
    featureswitch, or anything close to that. I went to dll-files.com, and
    they don't have any such file either. It's a mystery.

I had same problem with visioner scanner.

you must g ointo control panel, ad remove programs aand look for any drivers for the scanner that have not been uninstalled and remove them. I had 2 other drivers in there I was not aware were forth scanner or another type of scanner.

Have you tried going to the Xerox.com site and downloading the new drivers, software available there?
Sounds like there is some corruption in your file system.

I've changed computers, transfered the paperport files to the new computer but it doesn't recognize the scanner.


You need to install the drivers for the scanner from here (click here). Then install them on your new computer. This will allow the scanner to be recognized. Hope this helps.

Resetting PaperPort after paper jam


I found the solution to this problem. Whenever the paper jammed in the feed tray, I was pulling the jammed paper out without opening the door of the feed tray. Apparently, PaperPort gets confused and does not know how to proceed. Now when I get a paper jam, I open the door of the feed tray, take out the paper, click on the paper jam error message in PaperPort, reset the paper in the feed tray, and then hit "scan." Works like a charm.

Documate 510 Roller Pad Assembly


Hi, I don't know if it's permissible to advertise but we currently sell the assembly for the Xerox Documate scanners. As far as I know the scanner's discontinued, and the pads are getting pricey so consider how much longer you want to wait before replacing the scanner.

I get an error message 2019 and unable to connect to twain device


Make sure that your scanner cable is not tightened too much. I had this challenge and found that by simply loosening the cable connection, this error message dissappeared.
