Question about Samsung SL202 Digital Camera

2 Answers

The lens is stuck and I've lost the receipt.

My camera has been dropped before, and we sent it in to get it fixed. Well, it came back and I took a couple pictures, and a couple days after it just stopped working and the lens won't go back in and it won't let me take pictures (it's not dead). I don't have my receipt to send it back in. How can I fix it?

Look at the lens from the side and you will see that it is slightly crooked.

with a moderate force try to straighten it. kinda like seeting a fractued leg! ha! i had this problem and it worked

good luck , jack

If you have lost your receipt then if your originally paid by debit card, then find out the transaction on your bank statements, this can be used as proof of purchase

Repair - How can I fix a broken lens/AF/MF?

If you have another lens, try that on the camera to determine if the damage is the lens or the camera. If the lens is damaged, just buy a new one, I would not trust the elements to focus true on a lens that has had an impact severe enough to cause this problem. As this is the standard lens that ships with most Canon Packages, you can likely find a cheap one online.

OK, I would try to get the receipt information from the retailer and try to exchange for another.

If this proves futile, the camera will have to be serviced or replaced.

Kodak.com says that they are not responsible for cameras that have been dropped, but if you contact them, they may have a solution for you.
http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/repair/troubleshooting/troubleshooting.jhtml?pq-path=6198

Try the above troubleshooting and repair link to get service that must be paid for since it was dropped or exposed to liquid for evaluation.

Lens error, restart camera

the beeping sounds means that your camera lens is stuck. contact the manufacturer (canon), for a possible solution...or they can even send u a new one. My friend dropped her SD630 and had the same problem...she contacted canon, and sent in her camera to be fixed, but it wasn't fixable, so canon sent her a brand new camera. hope this helps.

Lens is stuck open

We had the same problem with a Casio Exilim. Had been stuck for months...had nearly given up until I saw another post about banging the camera pretty forcefully to get the lens unstuck. I hit it once on the bottom onto my desk(w/ paper and blotter on the desk-so soft), then twice with the back of the camera against the desk. I turned it on and the lens was unstuck!! Immediately took a couple pictures and it seems to be working fine! If the camera may be lost, you've got nothing to lose to try this out...Good luck!

I733 POARIOD PICK CAMERA.

I just dropped mine last night and the lens got in this funny bent position, so I popped it back to where its suppose to be. Now the camera turns on and off without the low battery signal but the lens doesn't retract or do anything by itself anymore. I can hear the little motor running that retracts the lens, but the lens itself doesn't actually move when I hear the little noises. So now, I have a wonderful camera with the lens stuck out. I should state that I have the i631. It's just like the i733 but one megapixel smaller. I've the receipt from the retailer that I bought it from so I'm hoping polaroid will at least look at it. I bought it back in June! It's only 4 to 5 months old!

I'm not sure if this will work for all of you, but try plugging it into your computer. When I had this issue for no apparent reason, plugging it into my computer seemed to awaken my camera out of the protective sleep mode that it was in. Sadly, it's not working for me this time.:-(

Lens stuck out

The lens probably has some dirt or grime stuck in the lens motor. If you can gently twist the lens back and forth, maybe with some air.

I have answered this in another post. Here is the link.

If this helps you, please return and choose FixYa! ThankYa!
