Printer Disappears from file and won't print from any "print" area

Every couple weeks this new "wireless printer" Printer Icon just disappears. I'll go to print something off my wireless laptop and it will say there are no printers loaded...it is just gone and anywhere I go to print...it says it can't find it...then I go to printers and faxes and it is literally just gone...it has disappeared.

Also, I also am getting the box "Insert HP Product assistant Disk" and it will not click away. I don't think I ever had such a disk. If it came with the computer I can't find it AND if it didn't...where is it? Is it in the computer? Can it be re-sent to me?

Same problem as described. Printer disappears. This has happened a number of times. Each time I had to uninstall the driver and reinstall it. HP says it's a problem with Vista. How can this be resolved?

My printer will not print still after I troubleshoot it and everything. I have a netbook laptop so I don't know why it's not printing. It says it's ready and everything

Problem Print job does not print; No Lexmark job status window Solution What you will see

  • The Windows print queue spools the print job.
  • The print queue icon appears in the systray or notification area.
  • The print queue icon disappears as if the print job has successfully been sent to the printer.
  • The print job disappears and does not print.
  • No Lexmark job status window appears to indicate a communication problem.
  • No other communication errors. This issue is most likely due to a corrupt device mode registry entry from another printer that was installed and used in the past.
Or
  • You do see the job status window and you do not see any alerts or communication errors, yet still nothing gets printed

What to do

A confirmed cause must be established before a resolution can be achieved.
To do this:

  1. download a diagnosis tool that will help determine the cause of the printing issue.
IMPORTANT: Again, this tool is only to be used in cases where there is no communication error message from the Lexmark job status window and the job spools quickly through the Windows spooler, yet nothing prints.
  2. Select an easy-to-find Save location, such as your Windows Desktop.
  3. Double-click on the delserDevMode.exe file.
  4. Accept the License Agreement. After the file is executed, it saves devmode.txt to your root directory (e.g., C:\devmode.tx.

Cant print using Dell A920 printer on my imac. printer set up shows driver is correct I think and the printer name is correct.

So clearly the Macintosh sees and recognizes the printer. WIll it let you queue a document to the printer? After you do, you will see an extra icon on the Dock that represents the printer queue. Open it up and see what is happening to the printer job. If it disappears, it was sent to the printer and the Mac thinks it was printer successfully; if it isn't printed then you have either a bad printer or a bad printer driver. If it stays in the queue and goes to "hold" state, look in the log to see what the error was -- the Mac is unable to negotiate with the printer to get your file printed.

The printer will no longer print. It sends the job to the printer and after a couple seconds it disappears

The following link to Lexmark support has an optional diagnosis tool to assist you with your problem: (you did not indicate any error messages)

Printer disappears !

hi there are 2 types of wireless installation 1 is infrastructure and the other one is Adhoc in Infrastructure the computer and the printer are connected through a router this is a permanent sort of connection and remains even if the computer is shut down
but the Adhoc connection is a short duration connection in which the computer and the printer are directly connected and the connection is lost as soon as the printer or the computer is turned off
so its always recommended to connect teh printer using the infrastructure mode so that you do not face any problem
