Hi mos, Your board uses an AMI bios. You can see the specification here:
AMI BIOS beep codes
1 short = DRAM refresh failure
3 short = Base 64K RAM failure As noted at this link:
Suggest you remove your memory & re-seat one dimm at a time booting after each re-seat. If this is new memory insert old just to check board function. Shut down & try new memory. It wouldn't hurt to check against the manual pg. 6
2 DDR (184 pin, 2.5V) + 2
SDR (168 pin, 3.3V) DIMM sockets with a total capacity of 2
GB system memory
Need to test you memory?
Scroll down, about half way down the page to where you'll see............
** Memtest86+ V2.00 (08/02/2008) ** Typed in red. Pick you flavior.
Download - Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip) for CD OR

What causes red led on starting?

Remove Power Cord then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, then put the cord back in and try to start it.

When you press the Power Button are you hearing the fans run, the disk drive running, the cd drive click and the light on it comes on for a second or two?

Anything shows up on the LCD Screen?

If you press the power button and absolutely nothing is happening then you most likely have a bad power supply.

If you press the power button and you start hearing beep sounds or blinking lights in a continuous pattern (ex. 1 long followed by 2 short) then you have a motherboard issue. Those beep sounds and blinking lights tells the technician what is going on with the computer.

Peeping when start up

The 3 beeps is an error code. If not in your Dell manual contact their customer service tech department to find out what the beeps refer to and then you be guided accordingly with your repair. Could be a bad peripheral, faulty power supply signal, etc.

My optiplex gx520 computer cannot bootup and there is a peep sound coming up when I press the power button. there is all a green light on number 3 and 4. can you help what's exactly happen to my pc please?

It is a memory issue. One of your ram could be bad or isn't seated complelty. If you have more then one ram installed. take out all the ram, and install one ram into the first bank, and rotate the rams to see if you can get it working. If nothing, try resetting your bios by clearing the cmos. take out the battery that is located on your motherboard. It look like a nickel. take this battery out and insert it back in. See if you get anything. If not, then chipset could be bad, and a motherboard replacement is needed.

When I push the power button, the fans all start up for about a second and then the machine shuts down. I changed the power supply for a new one and the problem persists. No beeps - nothing

it may due to some short circuit in your PC. if there is no beep sound, then i think *********** board has got some problem. you may please open your pc and check for short circuit

I have a Sony Vaio VGC-LS25E All-in-one PC. When I power it on, nothing happens, the display is blank and there are no normal boot up sounds. Yesterday, it beeped 3-4 times when turned on, but it is not...

Amazing. I have the same computer and the same thing just happened to me. The computer works and if I press the sleep button I can see the screen for about 4 seconds.

HP A1710N, the computer has power, but the nothing works

When you powered the PC do you notice if the fan that cover the processor is rotating? if not may be the power pack is shorted, you may need to replace the power pack. IF the fan is blowing do you hear any peep sound? May be the RAM is bad. Anyway you need to troubleshoot a sequence of operation of the PC before you can conclude a part malfunction.

Computer do not turn on

Can you hear any sound (cooler or peep), can you see any start logos? If no and your power cable is connected then your power supply needs to be changed.
