What do I use to clean my flatscreen LCD tv.

It's generally not recommended to use anything that has alcohol or ammonia. Any harsh cleaner could react with the plastic screen or leave fine scratches. Over time these cleaners could damage your screen. Most cleaners available at the big box stores are water based (such as Monster Screen Clean). A cleaner that is safe for computers or even some eyeglass cleaners will work. Also use a microfiber cloth, like the type you use to detail a car. Do not use paper towels.

How To Clean Laptop Screen With Household Products?

Cloth - Only use a 100%-cotton cloth that is soft and absorbent, either an old T-shirt, sock, or Turkish towel. Make sure you're not using a cotton/polyester blend that contains stiff filaments which can scratch an LCD's surface.

Note: Paper towel or facial tissue should never be used because they contain wood fibers, also hazardous to LCDs, and definitely are not how to clean a laptop screen. Also remember to never use a dry cloth on your LCD monitor. It's perfectly safe for use on electronic equipment and LCD screens because it evaporates quickly and does not leave a residue. The lesser strength isopropyl alcohol 70% is used primarily for massage and muscle pain.

A 1:1 solution of distilled water and isopropyl alcohol 91% can be used to clean a laptop screen that is not heavily dusty or soiled with greasy fingerprints. How to Properly Clean Your LCD Screen

LCD screens are everywhere—computer monitors, TVs, PSPs. And they like to get dirty. You can buy a screen cleaner to keep it looking shiny and new, or you can try some of these simple suggestions. 1 part distilled water and 1 part 70% isopropyl alcohol. Do not use rubbing alcohol or tap water as they both will smudge the screen. Use a microfiber cloth to wipe the solution on as opposed to spraying. Also suggest using: Whiteboard cleaner Eye glass cleaner

How to clean screen of sanyo LCD TV

Never use a cleaning agent such as Windex on your LCD. Those cleaners often contain ammonia, which can, over time, damage your display's panel. A slightly damp, lint-free cloth, like the ones included with eyeglasses, or a microfiber cloth should do the trick. Never use paper towels! If you see streaks, follow the damp cloth immediately with a dry one. You can moisten the cloth with plain water or a commercial LCD panel cleaner, available at office supply stores. These commercial cleaners are often just 50/50 isopropyl alcohol and water mixtures, so clearly, you can mix that yourself and save a couple of bucks. Just remember never to spray any liquid directly at your screen. Moisten the cloth instead.

Please let me know if you have any further questions, thanks.

Cleaning monitor

I dont know which type you have but here is how to clean either:

CRTs
Those big chunky CRT monitors have glass screen which are easily cleaned. The important thing to remember is that you don’t ever want to spray any liquid directly on the screen. Instead, spray the cloth with water or a mild window cleaning solution then wipe the screen. You can use the same damp cloth to clean the entire monitor case, as well. If you prefer, you can also use moistened paper towels to clean CRT monitors, You will be only cleaning the outside of the monitor case and screen. Never open the monitor casing which contain electric voltage that can cause a shock.

Flat Panel LCDs
LCD monitors are often called flat panel monitors because they are flat and thin. These are the types of screens that are used in most laptop computers, and they are also becoming very popular for desktop computers. LCD screens are softer than CRT glass screens, so they require some extra tender loving care. Keep your fingers and sharp objects away from these screens since they are susceptible to damage and scratches.
Use a soft dry cotton cloth to remove fingerprints and smudges from the screen. If this does not completely remove the dirt and splotches, use a small amount of isopropyl alcohol on the cleaning cloth that has been dampened with water. (A small amount of vinegar can be substituted for the isopropyl alcohol.) Again, spray the liquid on the cloth and never directly onto the screen. Do not use paper towels on an LCD screen as they can scratch the screen. Never use ammonia, ammonia-based cleaners, or strong cleaners which can cause the surface to yellow and become brittle.
It is good to have a special clean cloth that is dedicated to use on the LCD screen. Don’t pick up any old rag, as dirt particles in the rag can scratch the surface of the screen. Special LCD cleaning cloths are available and can be an excellent investment.
