HOW TO INSTALL CN NA 2009NT ON A STREETPILOT C330
The CN NA 2009 NT mapset is too large to be installed in the C330 without putting part of it onto an SD card. My recommendation is to use MapSource to build an image file containing the lower 49 states, PR & the USVI and upload it into the internal memory as a new 'gmapprom.img' file, and then build a new 'gmapsupp.img' file for an SD card containing Alaska & Canada.
Start the process by using MapSource to create a new 'gmapsupp.img' file, choosing the lower 49 states plus PR/USVI. Make sure that the total mapset size is no more than 975MB (930MiB) MAXIMUM. Anything that's very much larger will cause the installation to fail, due to insufficient internal memory. Note: Even though MapSource lists the mapset size in "MB", it actually measures it in "MiB". DO NOT EXCEED 930.0 MAPSET SIZE AS LISTED IN MAPSOURCE! (Can you get away with "just a little bit more"? Yes, you can, but why push it when you can simply put the rest on an SD card? Otherwise, you'll spend 40 minutes uploading it to your C330, only to have it fail at 99%. No fun... )
After selecting these maps tiles, choose 'Transfer > Send to Device...', but do NOT select your C330 as the destination for your new 'gmapsupp.img' file; instead, choose to send it to a blank 1GB (or larger) SD card plugged into one of your USB ports by way of an appropriate adapter (or to the 'C:\Garmin\' folder on your primary hard drive if you're running a specially-modified MapSource executable). MapSource will automatically create a 'Garmin' folder on your SD card and create your new 'gmapsupp.img' file within it.
Once you've successfully accomplished this task, copy the new 'gmapsupp.img' file to your hard drive's 'C:\Garmin\' folder (unless that's where you sent it in the first place, as noted above), then re-name it 'gmapprom.img'.
Next, repeat the process, selecting Alaska plus all Canadian provinces instead. Do NOT select any of the U.S. map tiles you selected the first time around. Capiche? This time, however, after creating the new 'gmapsupp.img' file on your SD card, do NOT copy it to your hard drive and do NOT re-name it. Just plug your SD card into your C330.
Finally, we're almost ready to upload the first file you created -- now called 'gmapprom.img' -- into your C330. First, we have to make sure you have a copy of Garmin's WebUpdater package installed. Open your 'C:\Garmin\' folder. Is there a 'WebUpdater' folder there? Yes? Great! Look inside and you should see a file named 'WebUpdater.exe'. If you've got it, you're almost there.
You don't have WebUpdater installed? Go get it and install it; it's a free download from Garmin. I'm using Windows XP; be sure to get the Windows version that's right for you. (To the best of my knowledge, this procedure does not work on a Mac. Sorry... )

Now that you've got it installed, do the following:
- Right-click on an unoccupied area of your Windows Desktop; when the menu pops up, choose 'New', then 'Text Document'.
- Double-click this document; this will open up a brand new blank document in NotePad (or whichever text editor you've chosen).
- Copy and paste the following line of text into it...
C:\Garmin\WebUpdater\WebUpdater.exe /upload_file rgn=49 path=C:\Garmin\gmapprom.img -autorun usb /i
- Select 'File > Save' then 'File > Exit'.
- Re-name the file to 'C330_Map_Update.BAT'
- With the C330 connected to the PC by USB (your drivers have already been installed previously, yes???), double-click on your new 'C330_Map_Update.BAT' file.
- Sit and watch as the WebUpdater application opens up a command-line window and copies your new 'gmapprom.img' mapset into your C330!
- It will take approximately 35-40 minutes if all goes well.
-Don't forget, you'll need to have previously entered your 25-character unlock code into MapSource. That unlock code must be specific to your C330; just because your Nuvi's unlock code allows you to create mapsets in MapSource doesn't mean that those mapsets will work in your C330!
yes i have with no luck.
