Question about Philips (DN4S2S05F/17) (5 Pack) (DN4S2S05F17) DVD-RW Storage Media
I HAVE A DVDR75-17 THAT I BOUGHT USED. NO REMOTE. I KEEP GETTING A 'NO SIGNAL' MESSAGE. CAN YOU HELP? I HAVE RCA CABLES FROM OUTPUT ON VCR TO INPUT ON DVDR. I HAVE TRIED ALL THE INPUTS. THANKS.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.

your model is "tuner free" that means it does not have the RF screw in connector. Buy one that has a tuner, preferably both ATSC(USA digital) and NTSC(USA analog)

You can record. From antenna to converter box, from converter box to vcr. From vcr to TV.
TV on Channnel 3 VCR on channel 3, and set channel on converter box. Then Record.
Time recording works the same way, but you can set for only one channel at a time. Tht is the only restriction that I have not overcome. The converter box sets the channel. Gee Whizz

try using the RED, YELLOW , and White connections in different holes soemtiems they get crazy and swap video yellow, to video red instead of video being yellow on both ends, figure out which one is the video cable by trying all 3 , to all 3 connections on your tv, while both devices are on

User manual for DVP642/37:
Connections on page 13.
Audio setup from page 28. Page 28:
For simple stereo setup use [Downmix] > [stereo]:
[LT/RT] requires a Dolby Pro logic decoder.

The solution was both simple and elementary - why didn't I remember it sooner?
The TV needed to be 'tuned' to the video just as it needed to be tuned for each TV channel.
I selected channel 12 on the TV, went into the tuning mode on the TV and with the video playing, cycled through the TV tuning process until, Voila, there was the video showing on the TV.
