Something inside has failed.

Tv wont turn on, the power button is flashing red

Something isn't allowing the power supply to come up. A certified technician should be able to help you diagnose and fix the problem.
You could troubleshoot the problem yourself, but if your TV is under warranty I would just use the warranty on it.
If its not under warranty, you could open it up, look for anything burnt; bulging, if it looks like it shouldn't be; or missing that looks like it should be there.

Panasonic Model TH-42PZ77U doesn't turn on

I contacted Panasonic and it seems that they will take care of the problem even though the TV is out of the 1 year warranty. They are aware that this is a manufacturing defect, apparently. I'll follow up later to let you know how it turns out.

(panasonic TH-42PZ77U plasma) the tv will power on but before the picture comes up it powers back off. Red power light is flashing.

in protective mode the tv does not turn on and light is blinking, typically we must proceed by elimination as some faulty sections are preventing the tv to switch on. unplug the output power connectors from the power supply until the latter stop clicking. if it is still clicking after every of the output rail have been disconnected, then the power supply itself is faulty.

hope this helps!

but anyway 3 circuit boards seems a lot to be replaced in a row.

hope this helps!
