The burned disc contains mostly photographs and minimal video clips. Shouldn't it still be able to play on the DVD player or are the video clips preventing the disc from being played entirely?

  • msgipaul Feb 05, 2010

Also, the video clips were downloaded from you tube using "Save to PC -Ultimate" which, I believe, does the proper conversion...

1)Did you burn the DVD as a video DVD? This is mandatory as if you burn it as data DVD it plays only on the computer.
2)The clips playing in a distorted manner is attributed to low resolution. While editing the movie you will have an option to choose the output resolution. Choose the max resolution and AVI format for best quality. It will be encoded to VOB(DVD video file) of the same quality while burning.

Hope this helps.
Sai.

If you are playing Divx movies or Avi or other similar formats into a DVD player with Avi/Divx format, please remember that most DVD player, even with Divx function, will not play all files downloadable from the Intermet, because many of the codec used in compression will not be built in into the DVD player.

Many video clip are simply incompatible because of the coded used and cannot be played.

The only way to play them is using a video converter on computer to get rid of the codecs. Converting from one format to the other will get rid of incompatible codecs.

Here a free converter: AVS Video Converter

Minimal video clips are often heavily compressed and do not play. Pictures that usually play are JPeg, GIF, BMP and PNG, some of this may not play.

If the pictures are like scrambled colors in kind of small square shaped tiles, that is the compression.

If you use "Save to PC -Ultimate", they will never play on DVD, you have to convert them to AVI format.

Movi edit pro 15 plus burns realy slow

hi Richard, I found that too, also, when the DVDs had finally burned they all ended early, mostly just half a second or so, sometimes they would only burn say 45 seconds, even though the timeline ( the blue line above the tracks in edit screen) was stretched way past the end. Also it wouldnt upload to You Tube. What we've done, my mate and I, weve downloaded Live Movie Maker, you go to Microsoft site and download , I cant remember, its either Windows Live essentials, its something essentials anyhow, you have to download the whole package but it downloaded easily. I just googled movie maker. the old Movie Maker wont work with Windows 7, but this new one does, we re did all 13 movies of our songs, using the Magix movies we had already made as reference, and they burn easliy to DVD and they upload to YouTube really easily too. We are using MP4 clips, and it accepts those too. We had so much trouble with Magix ive now deleted it altogether and will go on with WindowsLlive Movie maker.

I bought the program Magix Movie Edit 12 . I just changed to a computer with windows 7. How can I download and run Magix. When I tried it told me to change windows! Thank you

Glad to HELP YOU!

This Magix Movie Edit series were made to run on Windows 7 systems too. So probably your license key was released for your previous computer ONLY. On the list of compatible MAGIX products (for Windows 7) are mentioned just:
  • Movies on DVD 8
  • Movie Edit Pro 16 / 17
  • Movie Edit Pro 16 / 17 Plus
  • Rescue Your Videotapes! 3
  • Video easy HD
  • Video Sound Cleaning Lab
So your MAGIX Movie Edit 12 is not included.
Anyway the same manufacturer says that:
"If you have difficulties with the installation of our products or you have trouble with the system environment email us here: http://support.magix.net/".
... I'd suggest you to do so.

GOOD LUCK!

Pinnacle S 10.7 DVD plays for for 15 min plus and then image free

Unfortunately I do not know what a prosumer is (do you mean producer?) but what I would do is produce an image file rather than write direct to disc and then use nero or imgburn to burn the disc.(I prefer Imgburn and not just because it is a free open source prog).

Give it a go and get back if the problem remains.

Can we put magix movie edit pro 15 plus on multiple computers?

The Magix licence agreement specifies that the software is licensed for use on one computer. With the serial number provided you can activate the software up to three times before a new key must be generated. This is for installation on one PC. To install it on a different PC it must be uninstalled from the first one. If the key has been used three times and no longer works to activate the software a new key can be requested upon request.

Burned DVDs play on PC but won't play on home player. I have 3 PC (2HPs and 1 Parts built),running XP home, pro, media. I bought 2 Samsung SH-S182 DVD±RW Dual Layer Burner, and have tried them on all 3...

Nero 6 and 7 does not provides us the facilitiy of burning the DVD in appropriate DVD Format. Instead it burns the DVD in the normal DATA Format, which is not supportable by our DVD Player. To play the DVD in our DVD Player we should burn the DVD in the appropriate DVD Burner which itself converts the extension of the movie and make it proper for a DVD Player to read it. It also adds some files to the DVD which is sometimes used by the dvd player in running the DVD.

Thank You
