Generally one can set the "Print Quality" in printer "defaults" often they are noted as, Fine, Normal, Fast Normal, Fast, or similar... now that means the amount of INK on the page, the faster you go, the less ink... the less darker it is. Try setting your printer to it Highest/best quality setting see if that helps.
