Question about Logitech Cordless Mouse

Cordless mouse suddenly stopped working

My mouse was working fine and I put it on the charger and went away for a weekend. When i came back I noticed the mouse wasn't working, it had a green light on the charger but when I took it off the base it blinked red then died. I changed the batteries and tried to resynch it but it still doesn't work. The batteries are correct, I matched them with the previous ones. The connection is secure, I checked that first. I've never had a problem with this before how can I fix it, I really need my computer.

My cordless mouse and keyboard seem to be working fine, but my mouse suddenly has started blinking red light when on charge base instead of steady green light. Charging base has two steady green lights as usual.

I have had the laser fail in some of these mouse's. I have also had the batteries fail. I have seen cracked circuit boards from the mouse being dropped.

You mentioned that you changed the batteries. I am assuming that you tried new batteries that you know are good.

Technicaly, there are no servicable parts inside of these mice. If the fault is something very simple it can usualy be serviced.

I assume you are using usb socket to charge mouse. The voltage on a USB is 5volts , you may have a problem here. It may not be producing the correct voltage. Or you may have a problem with your cradle. I would suggest you see a repair person and get them to look at the USB voltage and the Mouse cradle..
Hope this helps.

How do I open the battery compartment?

Hold your cordless mouse backward(the mouse facing you) and with your thumb right on top of the logitech logo, press it firmly then slide your thumb away from you and you would notice the cover being released.Replace the battery and the cover back this time the mouse facing away from you but the thumb still on top of the logo, firmly pressed down and move it away from you.

Don't know about the different surfaces problem, but the batteries...I had similar problem with duracell charger/rechargeables and my digital camera. I bought new batteries, charged them up and they didn't last long at all. I finally bought a brand new charger and batteries and they work great as they should. Maybe the charger is bad or try cleaning the charger battery contacts with pencil eraser to see if that helps. Also, some devices work best with "normal" batteries.

Have you tried re-setting the frequency for one of the devices? simply click the button on the infra-red unit then click the button on the back of keyboard and notice the infra-red unit stopped scanning.
