I have run complete diagnostics and gotten no errors.
This problem has been seen for awhile on all flavors of hardware: CPU X: Machine Check Exception: 0000000000000004. In can come from a kernel recompile after new drivers have or havenot been upgraded. Upgrading OS on older hardware can cause this exception throw. At any rate your system is now rendered unstable and probably should be returned to the last good known configuration - so goes the old addage - "upgrade or die!"

If you can locate an external USB mouse/keyboard or Wireless set; try that and see if this fixes the problem. If your computer works with the external hardware, go to the HP web site and download new or current drivers and install them accordingly. If after the installation and removal of external hardware it still hangs up; the keypad may defective or other issues requiring professional servicing.
Check your BIOS if it's detect your Hard Drive. If detected then check your system BIOS whether SATA setting is enable or not. Disable it if you have enable it in IDE configuration. If you find there is no way to configure SATA in your BIOS setting then you need to download SATA driver for that Hard drive and used a software called nlite.
