Hello! Are you saying you have the code but did not input correctly? If so disconnect the battery...re-connect..and input the code.

If you do not have the code take your vehicle to an authorized dealer. You'll need proof of ownership and the VIN#. As a courtesy they will give you the code.

Any questions...send a comment and I'll be glad to answer.

My rds 4000 says locked 13 what do i do

Hi,

On a Ford radio there are two levels of security lockdown.

Lock 10 - this means that the radio is locked down through 10 incorrect code entries but there is a secret way of getting it to accept 3 more code attempts - does not apply in this case unfortunately.

Lock 13 - Radio is totally locked down after 13 incorrect code entries. A radio in this state can only be reset by either Ford themselves - warning - expect a 300 (pounds sterling) fee from Ford for this!! Or you can try a professional decoding workshop - charge is usually around 50 pounds.

A radio in Lock13 condition cannot be reset by anything other than specialist software and must be physically connected to a special interface that recodes the unit. Sorry!!

You may well find it is cheaper to source a second hand unit from a breaker or ebay or just buy an aftermarket unit.

Thanks for usinfg FixYa.

Have ford mondeo 1999 --the radio/cd says locked 10 on the screen what can i do

Hi,

LOC 10 means that 10 incorrect codes have been entered into the radio and it is effectively locked down. Ford will attempt to charge you BIG money to resolve this. I recently had a customer who was quoted £250 by Ford for the very same issue who wanted to send the radio away to their technical dept. - can you believe that?

However, please view this link (click here) which

1) Tells you what you need to do to get a correct code for your radio.

2) If you make a personal request using their contact form they will tell you how to resolve LOC 10 in a few very simple steps for no extra charge.

Thanks for using FixYa.

My radio is showing lock10

You are inserting the wrong code. Check the serial number and let me know what it is? If you get a lock 13 it cannot be unlocked so make sure you have the correct code. Meanwhile, this will give you another 3 attempts,
If your radio is showing lock 10 simply hold down the button 6
on your radio whilst switching your radio on.
this will give you 3 extra attempts to enter the code to activate your ford radio

The serial number will begin with a "M" followed by six numbers.
Your Code is: "Enter the correct code here"
Insert the radio code by repeatedly pressing button 1 until the first number of the code appears on the display. Press button 2 until the second number of the code appears in the display. Repeat the process on buttons 3 & 4 to complete the code. When the code is entered correctly press button 5 and the radio should unlock. It works very well for me. Let us know how you get on.
(Please note that each serial number has a different code, if you require a code for a particular serial number then please post and someone on Answers may be able to assist you).

Radio locked on 2001 saturn sl2

Press & hold the 2 & 3 buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds; a 2 or 3 digit code will appear, write this # down, press & hold the am/fm button for about 10 seconds: another code will appear, write this # down, then call 1-800-537-5140 and enter 202108 (this is a dealer code - you can use one of the others below, too) followed by the # key, then enter the numbers that you wrote down, followed by the * key.
The call will give you a 3 or 4 digit override code. Write this code down so you have it if you ever need it again. Enter this number into your radio following the instructions in your owners manual.

Note: If you get an override code that starts with 0, you drop the 0 when entering the code into your radio.

If you don't have an owners manual, then press & hold the hour button until the first 2 digits of your code come up, then press & hold the minute button until the last 2 digits show. Then press the am/fm button.
Repeat step #5 twice in a row it will disable the Theftlock and you will see "---". You will then be able to change to a new lock code.

IMPORTANT - Other dealer codes: 139010, 206053 and 620529 - these may be inactive by now; GM will remove them from time to time if they feel that they are "compromised".

Also - there are 2 modes to the TheftLock - "LOC" or "SEC" and "INOP". Once the anti-theft is activated, the radio display will show "LOC" or "SEC" - you then have 8 attempts to enter your code. If after 8 attempts you don't enter the correct code, the display will change to "INOP". It is only at this time that you will need to wait one hour, with the ignition ON; before you can retry. After that - you will have only 3 attempts before the radio enters "INOP" mode again.

Display for radio stuck in '7 SAFE' mode

This sounds like a Phillips Car Stereo:

To get the code in:
1. Turn the stereo off.
2. Turn off the ignition
3. Turn the ignition back on (dash warning lights on)
4. Hold and keep down the AS button on the stereo.
5. Turn the stereo on.
6. Release the AS button after 4 dashes appear on the display
7. Now enter code (if code = 7009. Press preset button 1 seven times, button
2 once
3 once
4 nine times
If you go past you can go round again by pressing the
preset button repeatedly
8. Once all 4 numbers are correct hold down AS again until you hear a beep (2 - 5 seconds)
9. The stereo after beeping will scan to program channels
You have 10 attempts to get the code in. However some models will not give you the number of attempts remaining!

Time delays work as follows:

Attempt 1. 10 seconds
Attemp 2. 30 seconds.
Attempt 3. 10 minutes.
Attempt 4. 20 minutes
Attempt 5. 40 minutes
Attempt 6. 80 minutes
Attempt 7 160 minutes
Attempt 8 320 minutes
Attempt 9. 640 minutes (yes that is 10 hours 40 minutes!!)

Vitally important thing to remember, the countdown timer works only when the radio is switched on. ANY interruption in the power will reset the timer!

So, be prepared for a VERY long wait to be able to enter the code!
Oh, and if it has reached 10 attempts, then it needs a dealer unlock.

Car radio

Q
Have you tried with failed attempts at all? I found this about the radio

I know I have the correct code but the radio does not do anything when I try to enter it.
A It is likely someone has tried to enter a code or accidentally entered a number by pressing the radio preset station buttons. Most radios will enforce a delay between code entry attempts which increases (doubles in some cases) with every try. These radios need to be left switched-on, completely untouched, until they are ready to accept the correct code. Others give a maximum number of attempts - usually 10 to 13 tries after which the radio must be decoded.
Blaupunkt radios will often enforce a delay of 1 hour between code entry attempts during which time be careful not to press any keys or the 1 hour waiting period begins again. The display should change after the hour, indicating it is ready to take the code.

I will keep seeing if there is anything else that you can do
