How to remove the keyboard in a durabook N15RI? I have already removed the 2 screws at the top of the keyboard, but there still is something holding it in...

The 2 screws are the only pieces of hardware holding it in place. There is very sticky adhesive holding the keyboard down in the middle, which seems like it's a screw. Just grab a precision flat head screwdriver and gently pry it up. Hope this helps.

I have a dell dimension 4600. It has original memory cards installed. 2 256 MB for a total of 512 ram. I recently tried to install 1 GB memory card. When I start up computer it beeps several times,...

hello

several beeps in a system is caused by a memory issue -- If you've recently added or tried to add additional memory to the computer and have started getting these beeps. Remove all new memory you've added to the computer. If the computer works fine after removing the new memory you're encountering either an incompatibility or defective new memory.

Sometimes when the computer is moved and/or over time a memory stick can become loose causing the computer to be unable to read the memory or get errors as it's reading it. Try fixing this issue by opening the computer removing each of the memory sticks you have in the computer and then placing them back into the computer.

If reseating the memory did not resolve the issue try swapping the location of the memory. If you have only one stick of memory in the computer try moving it to another slot and then boot the computer.

If you have more than one stick of memory try removing all but one stick of memory and boot the computer. If this does not resolve the issue try removing that stick of memory and try one of the other sticks of memory.

the specs can be found at this link
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim4600/en/4600i/sm/specs.htm

the system you have is upgradable to 4G of RAM, and this RAM must be installed in equal pairs
so if you have 4 slots to insert memory in (assuming you will retain the 2 256M) , you must install the other slots by 2 512M, 2 1G or 2 2G DIMMs -- make sure you isntall exact same DIMMs, dont mix memory makers or specs, other than what Dell specifies

memory type must be
PC2700 (333-MHz) or PC3200 (400-MHz) DDR SDRAM
(non-ECC)

i hope this helps --

I add more memory to my microsoft vista but i don't see a difference in the memory

make sure that the "added memory" is detected and registered. if you got 4G before and you added a 2G module, 6G should be reflected at My Computer -> HArdware Properties
However, memory differences are only visible in running critical applications not in ordinary opening ang using of files.

Adding memory, new total not recognized: IBM Thinkpad R51e-1844

Ram should always be paired. Same type, speed and size in each slot. You may have 1 SIMM/DIMM/DDR that has 2 sides of chips and the other with 1 which will do exactly what you state. RAM reads across the chips simultaneously. So if you have a different one in each slot it can go bonkers and do goofy stuff on you.

Sony Vaio computer not recognizing added RAM

First, do you have a 32-bit or 64-bit operating system. Unless you have the latter, you will only see 3GB maximum.
Second, did you look at the Sony specs (you didn't say what model you have)? Chances are your Sony maxes out at 2GB.

Can i place a 4g and 2g stick in my macbook pro

Hello! The MacBook Pro you have mentioned can only support 4GB's total. 2GB's in the first slot, and 2GB's on the second slot.

What you may have seen by accident was that you can purchase either a 4GB kit, or a 2GB kit. Meaning a 4GB kit with 2 2GB sticks, or a 2GB kit with 2 1GB sticks.

Your best bet is to go with a 2GB stick in each slot to max out your MacBook Pro. 2GB's is the largest each slot can read.

For more information, check out the website below which has very detailed information on memory for various systems.
