The problem is probably the thermal breaker at the back. There are several of them. Mounted on the heating elements casing.

There is a chance that one of the thermal sensors is bad.you need to check the continuity on them if one of the is bad you dryer will not heat.also make sure your power cord is good

Smeg DHT71euk-1 not heating up properly?

Many dryers have two heating elements, and provide low, medium and high heat by using element 1, or element 2, or both elements on together. I found this, so I think my idea is correct.

Heating element 1,200W + 1,000W

so, 1,000 watts, 1,200 watts, or 2,200 watts.

You have a single failed element. The other possibility is a thermistor or sensor failure, so don't just replace the element, test is for continuity with a test meter.

and just to throw a spanner in the works, this review says is it a low heat dryer.

I have samsung dv220aew/xaa dryer, that gets too hot and kicks code HE. New element, thermistor and cleaned thoroughly. Gets hot, codes on all heat settings. Any ideas?

DRYER OVERHEATING:

Heating Element
A defective heating element can make a dryer too hot. If the element partially shorts out, it can produce heat all the time, regardless of whether the dryer is calling for heat. Remove the heating element to inspect it. The coils should not be touching each other or anything else.

Other Causes and Conditions
Air Flow Problem
Dryers need good ventilation to work properly. If the vent is clogged it can make the dryer too hot. Clean all of the vent tubing thoroughly.

Cycling Thermostat
Although not common, a defective cycling thermostat can make the dryer too hot. The cycling thermostat is supposed to turn on and off the heat to maintain the proper temperature. If the thermostat is defective it may keep the heat on too long. The thermostat is not adjustable or repairable, it must be replaced.

Felt Seal
Most dryers have a felt seal at the front and rear of the drum to keep the heat inside the drum. If the felt seal is worn away or missing, the dryer may keep heating and make the dryer too hot. This is not common.

Blower Wheel
A defective blower wheel will not spin properly and will not vent the hot air, making the dryer too hot. Check to see if there is adequate airflow out of the dryer.

We have a Kenmore Gas dryer it runs but it doesnt get hot.. any ideas what it could be?

The heating element is most likely burned out. Try ordering a new heating element for your dryer and calling a repairman to put the new heating element in.

Replaced element and now dryer too hot - vent is clear

Hi, Check the element again. It sounds like the element has relaxed and shorted out against the metal housing. The squeak might be the rear bearing cup. You can check and see if it needs grease while you have the drum out.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know.

Thanks

Dryer does not get hot enough to dry clothes Roper REX4634KQ1 Electric Dryer

Most common cause of this is a clogged venting going to the outside to test this remove the vent from the back of the dryer and run a load if it drys ok them you know you have a venting issue and will need to be cleaned out if not plz repost and we can look deeper into it

GE Prodigy Electric Dryer not getting hot

The exhaust hose in the back will not affect whether the dryer will heat. The hose just removes the used hot air to a place outside your house. I assume dryer drum spins, but you get no heat. If the dryer has gotten a few years of use, I suspect that the heating element has gone bad. Have you noticed that it has taken longer and longer to dry clothes than it used to? If so, most probably the element is bad. The element is not unlike a heating element in an electric stove, and is housed in a duct inside the dryer.

Either the heater element is breaking or is loose and getting only 110V instead of 240V.  First I would check the wall outlet with a voltmeter for 240V between Line1 and Line2.  Also check the connections and continuity for the heater element.
