Question about Hitachi 42V715 Rear Projection Television
The yellow spot is caused by a failure in your light engine (it is the projector part of your TV where the lamp plugs in.) There was an extended warranty but it has probably expired. You could contact Hitachi just to see, otherwise it would probably be cheaper just to replace it. Light engines can cost several hundred dollars plus a couple hundred more in labor.
