Hearing a 'beep' is usually to warn you there is a fault. I do not know a single long beep as a code for your Notebook. Turn it on and do not touch anything, and see if there are any short beeps and/or other long beeps, and let us know
Quite often it is a fan problem, can you hear your fan running and does it sound normal?
Try reinstalling the audio driver. You can download the audio and device drivers for your model laptop from the Toshiba WEB site from their download page. Make sure you enter the model of your laptop so you can get the correct drivers. Please click on this link: - http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp
try to check your laptop keyboard maybe their is some small materials that are accidentally inserted on the keyboard, but if the unit was still beeping, you might need to ask an actual technician because maybe their is something wrong inside of your motherboard on your laptop. Better to ask the techie person on your area so that they will going to open it up.
Your beep codes are..
1 short beep System is OK 2 short beeps POST Error - error code shown on screen No beep Power supply or system board problem Continuous beep Power supply, system board, or keyboard problem Repeating short beeps Power supply or system board problem 1 long, 1 short beep System board problem 1 long, 2 short beeps Display adapter problem (MDA, CGA) 1 long, 3 short beeps Display adapter problem (EGA) 3 long beeps 3270 keyboard card .
So looks like a display problem, have you tried any of the recovery/restore options available when you press F8 on boot up
Hi Rosanna, Actually when a dvd is being read by computer, much of the memory is being used in it. if there are some unreadable sectors on dvd which ur computer cant read, it freezes i.e. it stops responding to anything & u think its hanged. Even for sounds, either it stops the sound or it hangs the sound like grrr.... Try to clean the DVD with a soft cotton cloth with a bit of after shave over it. Try it then..else try some other DVD's....... hope it worked u out Thanks
i sounds like a graphics problem but try and re seat the memory 1st. disconnect anything connected to the laptop, unplug it and remove the battery. remove the memory module(s) and re seat them. but the battery back in, plug it in and restart it.
