Freezing problem in maytag frig

The same thing happened to my frig, also a french door model. I am told this is a known problem on my model MF 12568AES. I called Maytag on their 800 number, mentioned I knew this was a problem they knew about. They denied any knowledge of it, so I told them it was the high voltage board, the (2) 35w 680uf capacitors and they had a technician at my house within 2 days and although they didn't make that same board any more, they sent mine in for repairs. Over 30 days later it was re-installed and it works great. There was no charge for the service calls. My fridge is 8 years old. It sounds like the defroster is not working. Look up online for solutions that are posted.

What is the complete model number of the unit?

The coils may need a bit of cleaning. Cobwebs and dust can cause a loss of performance. You will know it when the skin on the ice box gets warmer.

sounds like the freezer fan motor is worn out

We had the same issues with the water freezing and called a technician out. He added some extra insulation installed around the water lines inside the refrigerator and we also keep our frig at 40 degrees Fahrenheit, slightly above the manufacturers default setting. Hope this helps.

We had the same thing happen a little while back. The compressor went out and had to be replaced (it was under warranty, but the labor wasn't covered)

Hi!!! make sure that your water reservoir is not frozen located inside the frig section on the way back. If not the you have a bad water valve located in the back of the frig on the bottom..Good luck..

1) Electric Water valve check up.
2) Water/Ice dispenser control check up
3) frozen plastic pipe inside door or/and chilled water container frozen
4) old water filter (clogged)

CHANGE THE FREEZER TEMP TO -2 AND THE REFRIGERATOR TEMP TO 44 AND IT WILL START MAKING ICE AGAIN
