Hp 8500 refuses to print

I installed refilled cartridges (via Cartridge World) and now my printer will not print. I went to hp site and a tech walked me thru cleaning heads, cartirdge parts, too. Now what? All hp says is don't use refilled hp cartridges. Yeah, right, just give them $90 everytime you need ink!

my printer is not wireless

What do you want me to clarify? That indeed, I commited a cardinal sin and used refilled ink cartridges? Or, I have to now continually give HP $90 for new cartridges every single time?

I also imagine that because I've used hp's on-line chat, they now know I have used refills and will void my warranty. HP? Never again!

HP is the lesser of the evils, trust me on this. Canon, Sharp, Lexmark, etc. All of these companies must sell ink and toner. That is where their profits come from. They couldn't care less about the printers. If It breaks under warranty, they send you a new one.

It is a problem using refilled toner cartridges, especially in colour machines. Mono (Black) printers are usually ok to use a good quality refilled cartridge, but colour machines generally do not like them.

Have you tried to print a Configuration page from the control panel <Information> menu?

I have had 2 HP printer over the years and had both working at the same time but eventually they both at the same time gave up the ghost I too contacted HP but with no help..dump both and bought the Kodak your problem lies in the refill s you bought I would remove them and use the HP products however once installed the HP again go back through the cleaning and align of the printer head if it still will not print open the printer and Very Carefully check to see if it has a built up crust of ink {usually left by refill ink)on the head if so every carefully clean this and try again to print. its not a sure fire way that it will wok but it might just do the trick.

Hp940 cartridge refilled thrice, refilled fourth time, the printing has stopped and asks for new cartridge. in pune local market the cis system is not available, neither refillable cartridges, nor the chip...

The problem you state is chip related, you are lucky to have used refills the number of times as you have, depends how low you let the cartridges get to. 3/4 used then I refill. The chip in a lot of the cases needs to be reset, there is a refill pack which includes a gadget to reset the chip.

Have learnt that with the numous suppliers these days there are a lot of cheap outlets which cater for our printer.

As a matter of interest should you decide to purchase make sure the replacemet is "WIRELESS" the 8500 non wireless cartridge does not work in the "Wireless 8500".

How can I make your 8500 pro accept a refilled HP cartrige.

The HP 940 cartridge is the new version of the HP 88 cartridge. Both have a chip that estimates ink levels. Once the chip says the cartridge is empty it will refuse to print, no matter how much ink is really left in the cartridge. This is a safety measure so you don't get air in your ink lines. If you get air in an ink line, that color will no longer print. We can refill the HP 88 because there are replacement chips available for these cartridges. I own a Cartridge World ink refilling store and I don't refill the HP 940s yet because I don't have access to a replacement chip. If you purchased a refilled HP 940 and it's not working, I would say the chip has not been replaced. I would wait until a reputable refiller (i.e.-Cartridge World, Office Depot, etc..) offers refills for this cartridge before you try anything off the internet.

Black and color cartridges refilled. originals back in printer...printer says no color cartridge installed.. have cleaned contacts on cartridge and machine, NO difference. can we print just in black if...

You need to have both black and color cartridges installed with functioning electronics to use your printer. Sounds like your original color cartridge and the refilled color cartridge you purchased both have bad electronics. I recommend Cartridge World or Office Depot for cartridge refills because they electrically screen their cartridges before selling them. You need to buy either a new or refilled color cartridge for your printer to work.

How to refill the cartridge

This printer takes the HP 940 cartridge. I own a Cartridge World ink refilling store and we cannot refill these cartridges yet. There is a chip on the cartridge that estimates the ink levels and shuts off the cartridge when it thinks it is empty. Any refills you find are either violating patent law with replacement chips or they are telling you to take the chip off your old cartridge and put it on the new one. This second scenario is a rip off because once the chip says the cartridge is empty, no matter how much ink is left, it will refuse to print.

Won't scan. alarm light is on say's out of ink but has been refilled all buttons when pushed dubble beep.

Your refilled cartridge didn't get the ink level chip reset. Your printer will refuse to print, scan, copy, etc.. until you replace the cartridge that's "empty." I would return the cartridge to the refiller you purchased it from and buy a refill from Cartridge World. These simple problems do not happen with Cartridge World refills.

How to Refill HP940XL Ink Cartridge?

I just bought a printer that uses these same cartridges & I just got off the phone with Cartridge World. Apparently, the cartridges can be refilled, but there's a microchip that prevents the refilled cartridge from being read as "full" by the printer. They are working on "cracking the code" and, once they do, refilled cartridges will be available from them. I don't know if or how that microchip can be replaced if you refill your cartridges yourself, sorry.

I bought re-inked cartridge for Lexmark It didn't work

Yes, Lexmark has been making their new printers smarter to reject refilled cartridges. Most likely what is happening is your printer is turning off the electronics on the cartridge when it gets empty so you can't reuse that cartridge. I own a Cartridge World printer cartridge refilling store and I've even had customers return original Lexmark cartridges because their printers have rejected them. If you want to be able to refill your cartridges never buy a Lexmark printer. HP printers that use integrated print head cartridges can be refilled nicely.
