Fire on the eye!

About 6 months ago, the heating element in the oven had an electrical fire, which cracked the element and caused a huge electricity arc. We had to unplug to stop. We replaced the element ourselves (not a big deal to do.) This week, the front eye of my stovetop superheated, turned bright red sparked and smoked and started a fire. Everyone is okay, but scary. We took that element out and put the small element from the back corner to that same spot and it was starting to do the same thing.
Has anyone had this problem or any ideas of what might be going on/

Yes the switch that controls the element is bad the oven is a natural thing there is no general promblem bad with the range the oven elements are called cal rod elements its a wire with insulation between it and the out side part if the insulation breaks down then the wire shorts out and its like an electric welder and your right its a scary site to see lol the eye is a bad switch just replace the switch and it will be fine the element you took out is still good plug it in where you took the other one out and see

Could have a bad element in oven.or the selector switch could have a short electrically. I would shut the circuit breaker off and call an electrician to check it out.could cause electrical shock or even a fire.

Hi need a manual for a select 920 diplomat oven

I have a Hygena 920 twin oven and grill .The electrical element in the grill started to droop several months ago, now it has stopped working . the element has burnt through. Could this have caused a fire?
I should like to know if it is possible to get a spare element and fit it myself. What would be the cost of the element? Thanking you in anticipation.

One eye on my oven won't heat..could this be the fuse or element

This could be caused by the eye control switch, the eye itself is bad,or the electrical block where the eye itself plugs in.These can be checked with a volt/ohm meter. Also a wire could have burnt under the stove top.Hope this helps. Gregg
