  1. Hold down the power (on/off) button on your device.
Note: Treo 600 smartphones have two power buttons. Hold down the one on the top of the unit next to the antenna.
  2. While holding down the power button, turn over your device so that you can see the back of it. Still holding the power button, use an unfolded paper clip or a similar small object, to gently press the RESET hole on the back (Where's the reset hole?).
    • Treo 680: There is no RESET button; instead, remove the battery and replace it while holding the Power button. It helps to remove the battery cover (but not the battery) before starting a System Reset, so your hand is free to hold the Power button throughout.
  3. When the Palm Computing Platform or Palm Powered logo appears, release the power button. Depending on your device, this logo looks like:

How do i reset my palm back to factory settings

According to the manual a hard reset will erase all of the user data on the device and restore it to the factory settings. On the Palm Tungsten E2, you can do this by holding down the power button while pressing the reset button on the back of the device. When you release the power button, you will then confirm the hard reset by following the directions on the screen.
