Hello,

try to access the battery and remove it. You can test the battery with a meter when you detach it from the player.

If possible, you can as well test the mp3 player with another battery and see if it will take a charge.

Take care

This battery is 1year old after jump start wii not hold charge

Take the battery into your local auto parts chain. They will perform a charging test on the battery.

Some batteries will go bad in less then a year in which case if it is under warrant you can get it replaced for free.

If the battery tests good then you have a charging problem which usually means a faulty alternator. If you can get your car to the auto parts store they can also test the charging system on your car and should do both the battery and charging system tests for free.

Battery wont charge on a 1983 honda prelude

If the battery is continually going flat, first test that the alternator is charging at least 13.5 volts at the battery. If that is ok check the current drain when the car is turned off. It should be less than .050Amp (50 milliamps) If all that is ok get the battery tested. If its more than 3 years old its likely to have a weak cell and will need replacing.

Own a 2005 BMW M3, car battery draining -battery less than year.

From what you're saying here, I believe that you simply have a bad battery. Most batteries only last 5 years, much less if they're left to sit in storage periodically. You really should charge the battery overnight and do a load test on it the next day. The person(s) you spoke to at BMW were probably sales staff and not actual technicians. Costco has very good batteries at reasonable prices.

Testing a video cam battery's ability to charge

The chargers are usually pretty reliable. You could check it with a voltmeter. I've never replaced one that someone hadn;t dropped or damaged. They just keep woring.

Usually it is the battery. If it had less and less usefull life before it stopped then it definitly is the battery then. If it is more than a few years old it would also indicate the battery.

What is the problem with keeping the battery charged? My new batteries only last less a year. The alternator checks out ok. Any ideas?

IT sounds like your problem is that you havent had your Alternator tested as what you have is over charging and the battery will be a 12 volt so the most itcan charge is 13.5 volts and yours is charging more (like 14 od 14.5 and thatsnot good) as what its doing is boiling the guts out of the battery and the water is like boiling a kettly it gets low till it runs out and then there is nothing to charge only DRY plates inside the battery. charging at 13.5 the battery will last about 3 years some times 5 or more.

Kodak Easy Share z712 IS not detecting charged battery

I have the exact same camera almost a year too. It is a total "swinka" on batteries. About 10-15 shots on super ni-cads, and quits without warning.

A pair of Energizer 7X gave me near 500 shots. Much cheaper but still ...

So 4 months ago I bought a charger and 2 rechargeables. Charge one while using the other one.
I may get 70-90 shots per charge on these lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, without flash.

Testing the batteries without a load doesn't really tell you anything.
What's the reading? Should be well over 4 volts when fully charged. Mine show 4.2V
