There should be a few screws at the back of the case, undo them all and take them out, pull the case top off, if you kneel down with front faceing you pull from the back and up towards you.

Inside you will see the mother with all the cables attached to it, just to the bottom left of the processor fan and behind the pci (white) slot you will see the battery, it is round and silver, to take it out there is a liitle clip holding it in place, push the little clip backwards and the battery will come out. The battery is a 3volt lithium battery, if you take it to your local pc store they will be able to sell you one. Put it in with the writing facing you, you will notice that the bottom of the battery is slightly thiner than the top. Put the case back on the opersite way you took it off and tighten all the screws. By the way you will need a philipes screw driver in order to take the cover off. hope this is some help.

Hi,

The CMOS battery you need is a CR2032 3V battery. You can get them from places like Radioshack, PC World or any good computer store.

Click on the link that I have provided below, it takes you through to Radioshack where you will see the battery for yourself>>>>>

As soon as you have seen the battery on the motherboard you'll know what to do. They are very easy to replace and just pop out of the housing.

When you have the new battery installed all you have to do is set the time, date and year.

Amilo Pi 3525 cmos battery

Most laptops require you to take the laptopapart to get to the CMOS Battery. It will be a silver battery about the of a nickel on the motherboard. The most common isCR2032. Also sometimes the battery will be in a vinyl covering and have acable that attaches to a port on the motherboard. Which ever type you haveyou'll need to either remove the battery or unplug the cable and let the laptopsit for an hour or two. Then put it back, reassemble the laptop andreboot the laptop. With the CMOS battery out the computer will lose thedate, time and password.

Cmos battery error failure

The CMOS (BIOS) battery keeps the computer'a comfiguration and the Date & Time settings in the CMOS (BIOS) chip in its memory. When the CMOS (BIOS) battery is flat these configuration information is lost.
Replace the CMOS battery with a new one, in most cases this battery is a lithium 3 volt battery type CR2032 and it is coin size battery 18mm in dia.(check it to make sure the type of battery is installed on your motherboard).
When you replace this battery then go into the BIOS and set the Date & Time etc.

I have an intel g41 motherboard....every time i switchon d pc...it shows check cmos error and the time and date are set to defaluts

This error occurs when the BIOS battery is flat. Replace the BIOS battery, most motherboards use a lithium battery type CR2032, this is a coin size battery. Check the BIOS battery type used on your motherboard before you purchase the battery.
After replacing the battery go to the BIOS setting and set the Date & Time etc. and you will not have this CMOS error.
