Hi,

Hold down Fn and hit the F7 key. That will re-enable the touchpad for you.

Regards.

SOURCE: touch pad driver.

Uninstall the driver from the device manager, then reboot. The machine will find the touch pad and reinstall the drive automatically. If this doesn't work, check the touch pad connection, they will sometimes work loose ar get a little dirt/corrosion build up. The connection is under the keyboard. At this point, if it's still not working, then it has failed and will need replaced.

Mouse pad won't work

Reinstall the driver for the touch pad. If tha still doesn't work, I would suspect the touch pad itself and buy a new touch pad for your laptop, or an external usb/wireless mouse.

Touch pad not working

Did it work for you before? what has happened since then?some laptops have a way to disable the touch pad so you won't accidentally move the cursor while typing. It may be a switch on the computer itself, or a LED in the corner of the touch pad, or it may be one of the Function keys (does any of them have a symbol of a mouse with a circle and one diagonal line indicating "no mouse") If so, push the fn key plus which ever function key has that symbol beside it.Some laptops automatically disable the touch pad if a USB mouse is plugged in.If none of these is the problem, you may not have a touch pad driver installed. Get a USB mouse to plus in until you get the driver installed. Go to the web page for the manufacturer for the laptop. Search for your model in the support section, and look for drivers. Download the appropriate driver for your touch pad and your version of Windows, and install it.Buying a USB mouse or a wireless mouse may be a valid solution no matter what the problem is if you like a real mouse.

I can move the pointer using the touch pad but can't left or right click with it. I have to use the click bar? Its a acer aspire one netbook

Go to the control panel (start menu) and go to Hardware and Sound; Devices and Printer - once this dialogue box opens, you should she the default installed mouse. Click on this, and it will bring you into a new dialogue box (properties); of where you should be able to select which buttons do what. If doing this does not enable use of your mouse buttons, or touch pad (clicking) you're pad may be damaged, and possibly need replaced. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
Thank you,

The mouse I have circled here is the mouse I use. Your's will be the default mouse and will have a different name. I recommend also using a wireless mouse. This gives you better use, it's faster, and easier. They usually use one AAA battery, or one AA battery, and they are fairly cheap. Wireless keyboards are very nice as well; even though this was listed under Barcode scanners, I'm assuming this is a computer issue, as you are referring to a "pointer" or "mouse".
Again, please let me know if you need further assitance.

Arrow keys, Enter, Tab, and the Windows key are the main control keys. However, Windows should recognize any generic USB mouse you plug in, and automatically install the drivers for it.

No mouse control via wireless mouse, or touch pad

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE MAY HAVE DRIVERS OR IRQ THAT ARE CONFLICTING, TRY UNINSTALLING THE DRIVERS FOR YOUR WIRELESS MOUSE, AND REINSTALLING THEM, MAKE SURE THE WIRELESS MOUSE IS UNHOOKED BEFORE YOU REINSTALL THE DRIVERS.

Try going to Start>Control Panel>Printer and other Hardware and look for mouse pad or something like that. I think the problem is that you can only use either the mouse pad or the mouse, can't use them both at the same time.

Wireless mouse is not working. computer says the wireless button is turned off. can't find it to turn it back on. hp dv6 1030us

Check your bios settings when the computer first turns on it well say press F2 to enter setup (could be a different F key) if it doesn't say that, try pressing F2, F1, F10, and F12 or the DEL key. if these don't work, Try again and press all the Fkeys across the keyboard. on will take yo into setup and you should find a wireless device setting to turn it on. If you can't find one, you may not have a wireless adapter installed in your system.
