Question about Lexmark X3550 All-In-One Printer

Until a few days ago my Model X3550 operated perfectly, now the unit will not respond to print command, although it will still copy and scan and perform all other functions. Simply will not print, get message reading "communication not available" and and oral error message "problem communicating with the printer". I downloaded another print driver all to no avail. What can be the problem. Since the scan funtion works I have to believe the cable and connections are OK. Bill Fenton

Unplug printer. uninstall the printer drivers. restart computer. when desktop comes up, plug in USB for printer. Windows should recognize the printer. If not, try a different USB cable.

I have had this printer for over a year and it has worked flawlessly until about 3 weeks ago and now it takes about 2 minutes after I click on print for the printer to activate. Any suggestions?


If your X3550 prints OK when it does start, perhaps the selection for printing immediately when receiving a print job has been changed to printing after entire print job has spooled.

This selection can usually be toggled between these two choices.

Dell AIO Photo 926 will not operated at all


Try changing your firewall, it worked for me. I got my 926 a year ago with my Dell and had no problems until I replaced my expired Norton w/a freebe I downloaded then the problems started. Would not comunicate sometiimes and when it did it printed once than froze. Would not delete printed doc or print the next. I remembered that McAfee made my old Emachine freeze or crash. Put Norton back on and no more problems. Hope this helps you.

try and copy something and check if that comes out blank or not..........if it comes out fine then just follow the troubleshooting guide on www.kodak.com/go/itg .

Won't work, "Colour" indicator + "Check cartridge" indicators blinking all the time when the printer is on, although the colour cartridge is only half-full. And when I say "won't work", I mean it - won't...


I had the same problem and I accidentally found out that if you press the cancel/resume button + the color scan, the printer starts printing a test page I had never seen before (includes error codes and stuff?!?!) and color as well as black comes out perfect but it will go back again into color cartridge problems after printing. Could it be something with the printer software itself? Hell, I am kind of getting sick with HP products. They are overrated and cannot be serviced. Kinda disposable printer although it was being sold as medium range all in one printer.
