The case screws are more than likely stripped from all the attempted repairs and these units are already loud

My microwave with hot heat the food

Could be a lot of things... If it's quiet when you try to zap something, then suspect a blown fuse inside or a burnt wire or the relay board. If it's extremely noisy when you try to zap something, then suspect the Mag tube, HV diode, or HV capacitor. Also, the windings on your HV transformer could be burnt, but that's not as common as the above mentioned items.

Buzzing noise

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you

  1. MagnetronIf your microwave is emanating high pitched or growling noises during operation, the magnetron could be going bad. Normally a nearly silent part, the magnetron uses high voltage and induces the frequency required to cook food. Although normally not a safety hazard to operate, this is a sign that the magnetron is failing and will need to be replaced as soon as possible.
  2. Exhaust fan motorIf your microwave is making a very loud humming noise during operation, it could possibly be the exhaust fan motor. If defective the part will need to be replaced to silence the appliance once more.
  3. Stirrer motorAnother leading cause of a noisy microwave is an expired stirrer motor. With use this part becomes worn and makes a loud grinding noise, which is usually a leading indicator that the part needs to be replaced. The stirrer is a metal blade that is slowly turned by the motor. This action disperses the microwave energy in a random pattern, which heats the food evenly. If the stirrer motor is determined to be nearing expiration, it should be replaced to halt the grinding noise.
  4. Turntable motorA very common cause for a noisy microwave is a worn out t
urntable motor. This is a relatively easy repair and will put an end to the noise once replaced.

There is no easy fix on a micro wave oven. It is an extremely dangerous appliance and any repair is best left in the hands of a qualified repairman.

Noisy Microwave

On the right side?

Usually there is a rubber pad on the high voltage transformer which prevents vibration due to the magnetic field of the transformer.

If that falls off, it can make the side vibrate.

Either way, since it's less than one year old, it would be fully covered under warranty. I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer to get it fixed free.

For more Goldstar / LG / L.G. help, call 1-800-243-0000 (M-F, 7am-8pm CT, Sat 8-5 CT) and choose the appropriate prompt from the menu or visit here. You can get warranty info & find a local authorized servicer.

hi my name is mark, most microwaves have fuses in them. if you are comfortable taking things apart you can fix it. you will need hand tools, a meter to check the fuse. radio shack sells inexpenive ones. unplug the microwave when you disassemble oven. first make sure the circuit breaker to the oven is not tripped. hope this helps. thank for your question.

GE Microwave DEMO MODE

The owner's manual (which can be downloaded here) doesn't show any demo mode, but it may exist.

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for maybe an hour. Then let us know if the hard reset does not fix it.

Turntable issues

As you say you are clueless about fixing anything, I suggest you take it to the service center and get it done. Replacing a electrical part has to be done properly, and fixing a turntable prob can be tricky.

Chances are the magnetron overheated and blew the thermostat / thermal cutout that monitors it. The magnetron itself may be bad, too. If Sears Service might consider this still under magnetron warranty, then they may replace the mag with no part costs (or just the thermal cutout part cost), but likely would charge labor. You can contact customer service or repair via http://www.sears.com Otherwise, if you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety and disassembly info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your base model number (without the suffix) here: http://www3.sears.com or likely cheaper here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383
