My DS Lite will power in if I have it connected to the charger... it may take a few tries but it will come on but if I unplug it from charger it will just shut off.

It's as if the battery isn't sending any juice to it at all and I've tried another battery from a different DS Lite.

Hmmm, if as you say another battery makes no difference it can only be a few things.

Try giving the battery terminals a clean up? Give them a bit of a scrape with a small knife or scalpel to bring them to a shine.

If that doesnt work it could be a bit more serious like a fuse (although if a fuse is blown you wouldnt get any power to it at all) which makes it sound doubtful.

If you are local to Bedfordshire, UK you can always bring it over to me and I can have a look at it for you. Ive fixed dozens of DS lites and have never come across one that i've been unable to repair yet.

My DS Lite wont charge! Help!

Try another charger, yours may be faulty. Alternatively, the battery may need replacing as it is no longer holding charge, these can be obtained very inexpensively from Ebay and you will just need a small cross head screwdriver to remove the cover on the back of the DS lite, then tap the unit in your hand to dislodge and remove the battery.

Ds light green, dim green, amber then off when power is turned on

Sounds like you need to send it in for repair. I had sent my console to VideoGame911.com and they repaired mine at a great cost and got it back at the end of the week. Give them a try, they are cheaper than a manufacturer. Good luck!

Everytime I wanted to charge my ds lite, the power turns red then it turned off in a second. I don't know where the problem comes, if it's the charger or the ds itself

Hi,

Possibly both, or it could be your battery. Have you tried another battery? or tried the same charger on another DS lite?

I suggest you get another battery or another charger, whichever is cheaper , or try it on a friends.

If your charger and your battery works, then it is your charging port, it will have to be replaced.

Charging.

Hi,
the ds lite sounds as if it,s damaged.
the problem with using adapters from other consoles, is that if the output voltage is higher, or the polsrity is different. the ds will be damaged. if you look at the back or underside of the ds. it should say for example. DC 9v. if you have used a 10-12 Volt charger, this has damaged the consoles mainboard fuses.
the other thing is the polsrity. whether the inner or outer section of the connecting plug is positive/inner and negative outer.
this can be viewed with a round symbol. with a plus in the centre or outer edge of the connector.

the only way, to get it working properly, if it isn,t already damaged is to get a charger of identical voltage and pin/polsrity.

DS LITE

Ok, then is either that both chargers you used are faulty, or more likely there is a contact in the power charger socket on your nintendo. check it it is moving or not well in place, eventually you will need to chaeck the contacts of charger socket on board inside the DS, the contact must be near there. Until you do not fix it, connecting the charger may be dangerous for your DS .

Power problems with DS Lite

Really sounds like a dead battery. The DS will not work if the battery is bad even when it's plugged in. You get the quick flash of the power light and that's it.
