Question about Computers & Internet

I have a S520 wireless keyboard that is not recording leters when you hit a key, especially the T key. My board is only about 6 mos. old & I always keep it covered when not in use. Only I use it, so nothing has been spilled on it. Would it be possible to get this board replaced? Thanks C.J. Spahr

I have a new Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop, with your wireless board connected to it. This laptop has been hooked up continually to AC since I first bought it. So I don't think the battery coulld be weak. I don't like using the laptop's mouse pad so I'm using your S520. When I used the laptop's keyboard it works perfectly like your board use to work, but when I use your board I need to strike some keys muc harder to get them to register. CJS

Hello.

You could try to pop off the key, use compressed air to clear underneath the key, and press the key back on. If the spacebar is the problem, do not remove, tho.

The S520 has a 5-year limited warranty. Since your keyboard is just 6 months old, I'd suggest contacting Logitech for a return. Part number:
PN 920-000922.

Here's their website info:

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/support_downloads/support_contactus/&cl=us,en?section=phone

Hope this helps.

Hi,
Check if the batteries have sufficient charge to work with keyboard and mouse because even if the batteries have low charge then the keyboard and mouse might not work.try connecting this wireless keyboard and wireless mouse to different computer and check if it is working fine.Try connecting different keyboard and mouse to this computer and check if it is getting recognized by the current computer or not. This is to narrow down the issue if it is the problem with the keyboard and mouse or the problem with the computer.
Go the control panel. Select device manager -> Keyboard ->Driver -> Update Drivers. Perhaps a recent update will upgrade the old drivers.
However please check the bellow links for in-depth knowledge…

Hi!

You have to install the drivers for the Logitech S520. You can get the drivers from the logitech site on this page: http://www.logitech.com/en-in/433/4678?section=downloads&bit=&osid=14&selectedFile=0
Download the program file, install it and your wireless keyboard and mouse should work fine.

  • Decide where the keyboard will be placed, whether it is on your desk or a table. Spend a little time experimenting with positions and placement to make sure your wrists and arms will be comfortable. You should consider ergonomics before you set up the keyboard to avoid repetitive motion injuries later on.
  • Step 2 Install the batteries (usually three AA) in your wireless keyboard. Replace the cover securely so the batteries are connected properly. Turn the keyboard on.
  • Step 3 Get out the wireless receiver that came with your keyboard. Position it close to your computer, but not closer than about 8 inches, as the computer itself can cause interference with the wireless signal. You will also want to set the receiver away from other interference-causing devices, such as radios, TVs and telephones.
  • Step 4 Ensure that your wireless receiver is no more than about 6 feet away from where you plan to set your keyboard.
  • Step 5 Insert the CD containing the accompanying software into your computer. A dialog box should appear on your screen. If the install instructions don't pop up right away, manually access the CD by double-clicking its icon or selecting it from the Start menu.
  • Step 6 Plug the wireless receiver into a free USB portmag-glass_10x10.gif on your computer. If you don't have any ports remaining on your computer, you can use an external USB hub instead.

The key board is not working- I can not log on- the mouse is connected but the light on the key board is off

Try to shut down the computer unplug it wait for about 2 min. Plug the pc back into the wall and make sure all the keyboard is plugged in all the way.

If this is a wireless keyboard do the same, and make SURE the batteries are FULLY charged. Press connect to see if the wireless devices work.
