Want to know what a system voltage low means

ALL modern cars and motorcycles hate low voltage, worst thing you can to to a computer. Your charging system on a car /bike/mower all generally produce 13.5-14.5V from alternator. Good battery will show 12.6-12.8V at rest. Slightly lower will usually still start a vehicle such as atv, motorcycle, but current is the key. If you see your lights dim when you try to start your vehicle it's a sign of a weak battery or corroded connections. Try cleaning connections to your battery, check belt on your alternator to see if it's tight, check acid level in your battery if it's lead acid.

Why won't it start after winter storage?

Hi, Lucy if your bike has been sitting idle for months or years and you did not do any pre-storage maintenance I feel your pain it will probably have a dead battery and not want to start or if it starts it will idle and run poorly, here are the following steps necessary to complete in order to get your bike back to an acceptable running condition.
1. If your battery was 3 years or older when you last had the bike running you should replace it.
2. If you believe your battery might still be serviceable remove it from the bike and put it on a 1 or 2 amp trickle charger for 24 hours. If it is the old lead acid type with visible cells and acid levels fill each cell to the top line with distilled water and replace the caps, run the vent tube into a plastic or styrofoam cup, any cells that are cloudy/milky replace the battery.
3. After charging remove the leads and let the battery sit for a couple of hours then check the battery voltage with a volt meter, you should have 12.5 volts or better, any readings in the 11 volt range you need to do a proper load test on the battery and replace as necessary, any readings in the 10 volt range you have a dead cell and replace the battery.
4. Drain and flush fuel tank, google " how to clean a motorcycle gas tank" find a couple forums to view the different options available.
5. Remove your air cleaner and clean and re-oil per Mfg. specifications.
6. Remove the carburetor, disassemble and decontaminate with a carb dip or if you have EFI remove injectors and clean with carb spray and compressed air
7. Remove fuel valve and filter disassemble and clean as necessary, remove fuel lines and replace with new ones.
8. Replace spark plug with a new one and check for spark.
Good luck and have a nice day.

How old are the batteries? The company appears to be proprietary and does not release much information.

I have sound on my tv but no picture

This sounds like the back-lights have quit working. This is made up with an inverter (ballast) and fluorescent lamps. I want you to try something. In a very dark room turn the tv on and watch what happens to the screen. There is three things that can happen. first the screen will stay completely black. This means the inverter never fired, and this is usually a failed inverter, but sometimes the power supply may fail. there is also a rare time the main module never outputted the signal to activate the inverter, but this is rare because you can hear the audio. So obviously the main is working at least 90%. The second thing that can happen is the screen will light for a split second then go black. This usually means that you have a bad lamp. These lamps are physically locate inside the LCD panel, and the replacement cost exceeds the price of a new unit. You may even see a dark area in the screen. The slight glow will not be uniformly lit through out the screen. Finally the last thing you may see is the screen has a slight glow. This means the back-lights work, but the video portion isn't showing. This usually means the driver board (T-con) has failed. This is probably not available separately, so you must replace the panel to fix it. And like before, the replacement cost exceeds the price of a new unit. One more thing to do when the set is on and in the very dark room if the screen is black, point a very intense flashlight into the screen. Put the flashlight against the lcd screen and see that you have video moving around the glow of the flashlight.

The last battery in my 3-cell Maglight (closest to the end, farthest from the bulb) has leaked acid out inside the tube /handle and caused the battery to get stuck, I can't get it out to clean it up and...

Unscrew the lens and remove the bulb, then get a small disposable container and fill it about an inch full with WD-40, or a similar de-seizing fluid. submerge the stuck end in the fluid for a few minutes and it should come off without issue. Make sure to clean the tube completely before replacing the bulb, lens, and batteries.

Watch does not glow in the dark

Is it suppose to glow in the dark? You don't give any information about the watch, make, model, age. If it was suppose to glow in the dark and it is old, that function may have deteriorated beyond normal limits.

Have yo sat your watch in strong sunlight for several hours then checked the glow in the dark feature? Is this a watch that glows as the result of a light in the watch powered by a battery that may be weak?

I suggest you take your watch to a jeweler in your area and have it gone over to assure proper operation.

I have 20 inches tv there is a sound but no picture,it so dark picture

Since you say dark picture visible, then : Brightness control setting!

Check the resistors on the neck PCB. If you find the resistance value of these resistors high, replace them.

If No EHT is found then also there won't be a picture visibility.

1. Open the back cover and see whether you can observe a faint filament glow in the picture tube neck, close to the picture tube socket.
If there is no glow E H T circuit failure.

2. If the glow is observed check picture tube grid voltages grid no. 2. as said above.

( the points referred above are all for technical people)

Lights come on but nothing shows its black.lens looks good

I have seen a few of this model and the tubes were gone in each case. Best way is to check if HV present at tube - get someone who knows what they are doing to take a look. If it is the tube, it will be expensive to repair. Unscrewing the lens may reveal that the inner surface of the tube has dark marks, also indicating possible tube damage.

When to replace

Inside a fluorescent light, electricity is delivered to a ballast, which sends a spark through the mercury-vapor-filled tube (or bulb), creating light by activating phosphors that coat the inside of the tube. If any of the components are faulty, the light won't work right. Once you pinpoint the problem, most fixes are very easy. Remember to turn off the power first! Old bulbs blink off and on just before they die; repairs are often simply a matter of replacing the tube or bulb. This problem may also be occurring because of poor contact between the pins at the ends of a tube and the tube holders. If the pins are bent, use needle-nose pliers to straighten them. Clean up the pins and socket contacts with fine sandpaper, and brush away residue. Though gray bands at the ends of tube are normal, black bands indicate that the tube needs to be replaced. If only one end is dark, turn the bulb end-for-end. If the tube is new and these fixes don't work, you may have to replace the starter or ballast. Some fixtures ("A-rated") are quieter than others are, but most fluorescent lights have a slight hum. If the sound seems too loud-- or if you can smell electrical burning-- shut off the power. The ballast is probably either the wrong type, improperly installed, or defective. Replace it or call an electrician. Brand new tubes tend to flicker, as do bulbs that are cold. If an old tube still flickers after it has had a chance to warm up (or after you've warmed up the room), rotate it a couple of times in the tube holders. Try cleaning the tube's end pins. If it still doesn't work, replace it. If only the ends of the tube glow, either the starter or the ballast is defective. Replace the starter, then the ballast.
