You should be able to get instructions when you buy the heater core ask the store to print you out a copy most stores will be glad to print the instructions for you. you dont have to really ask for instructions you just have to have a day aside for taking bolts out until you get to it. it will take some one more then 10 hours to do it but you will safe lots of money.... once you start you will see your self were you need to go next that is how i have fixed all my car problems...

My grandma asked me and I have no clue about cars so I'm a ask for help who knows a lot about a 1997 dodge intrepid? she says friend of hers told her that her rack pinion needs to be replaced eventually...

What is the problem that she is having with the car? IF the rack and pinion was bad, there would be steering issues. IF the heater core was plugged there would be no warm air in the cabin of the car..

How do I flush water out and add antifreeze to my 2001 dodge intrepid

Technically speaking, the cooling system uses a 50-50 mix of coolant and water. You can buy coolant already mixed, or full strength.
There are hydrometers that you can buy to test the condition of the coolant. I would suggest draining the radiator and refilling with full strength, then test it. You would still have some water in the block and heater core to mix with the new coolant.

Need to change out my heater core 2003 dodge ram 1500 I have the problem with the heater blowing hot on the passenger cold on the driver's side and now my heater does not work at all I believe the core is...

If it is necessary to remove the heater assembly, the cooling system must be drained before removing the heater core.
When a heater core leaks, a new heater core is installed or the old one repaired.
Heater Housing
  • The heater housing is usually under the dash and must be removed to gain access to the heater core.
  • Procedures for replacing the heater core vary with the year, make, and model of car. It threfore necessary to consult the manufacturer's repair manuals for the proper procedure for replacement.
f74-01.gif The heater housing is disassembled to get to the heater core. Heater Core
  • Remove the access panels(s) or the split heater/air conditioning case to gain acess to the heater core.
  • Remove the heater coolant hoses.
  • Remove the cable and/or vacuum control lines (if equipped).
  • Remove the heater core securing brackets and/or clamps.
  • Lift the core from the case. Do not use force. Take care not to damage the fins of the heater core when removing.
  • To reinstall the heater core, reverse the removal steps.
When the heater core leaks and must be repaired or replaced, it is a very difficult and time-consuming job primarily because of the core's location deep within the firewall of the car. For this reason always leak test a replacement heater core before installation.

I need to know what size bolt is on the harmonic balancer of a 97 intrepid

Those bolts are specialized, non-reusable bolts. Any time you remove one, you must get a new one to replace it. Size is Irrelevent; as you should refer to a parts store to get one based on application

Wiring for the 97 Intrepid radio

Do yourself a big favor & buy the adapter plug for the harness, that converts your Chrysler harness to easy install of aftermarket stereo. Any autoparts or audio store should have them.
