Fujitsu P1510D Touchscreen stopped working

I have a Fujitsu P1510D that the touchscreen stopped working. I use it in school. one hour it worked fine the next nothing. I would assume that if it was hardware I would have had some warning. jerkyness, slow pen, jumpy mouse or something. but there was no warning. I did run ''Advanced System care'' by iobit at the end of the first hour then shut down and headed to my next class. at my next class, no touchscreen. I thought then that it might be software(driver) related perhapse caused by ''ASC''. so I re-installed the drivers from Fujitsu's website. still nothing. so then I re-installed Xp-Tablet edition then installed the drivers. still nothing for touchscreen. I use this unit for my art classes. any help would be appreciated. thank you

Before you open up your computer, try downloading the touchscreen drivers from Fujitsu's website and re-installing them. Sometimes they just get flaky.

SOURCE: Win XP on Fujitsu stylistic lt c-500

Ok... after much slaving, trial and error, and just plain getting frustrated I finally figured out how to install XP on a Fujitsu Stylistic LT c-500 with EVERYTHING working!! The installation is difficult and time consuming but well worth it. Getting XP on the blasted thing is part of the difficult uphill battle... but Mr. Mark Rehorst does a wonderful job of explaining it here. Follow the directions carefully keeping in mind that you MUST have the cd-key for the EXACT CD you use... and that to install XP and get everything to work you really need at least a 20gb hdd and 256mb ram. Without those your system will be slow. Next once XP is up and 'running' you'll notice that your touchscreen is not working. Download the CIC XPen off of the Fujitsu support site... now here comes the interesting part. Unpack the driver to C:\Drivers\Pen once you've unpacked it find the file called fujpen.inf open it in notepad to edit it. You will see:
[ControlFlags] ExcludeFromSelect=*FUJ02B6
Make sure the last digit is 6 in that string... this is saying to exclude that model in the driver. If it's anything other than a 6 change it to a 6. Now then... further down you'll see:
[FPC.Mfg] %FPC.DeviceDesc0% = pendrv, *FUJ02B6
Now... remember what I said about the 6 above? Yeah... the driver is fighting with itself, help it out and change the last number to a 7. Save the .inf file. Go to your device manager right click on the unknown device and update it with the modified file... and presto changeo your touchscreen works!! Now for the other unknown device in there, it is called the Fujitsu FUJ02B1 Device Driver. Unfortunately Fujitsu dosen't include a driver for this... but if you google search it you should come across driverguide.com and they'll have it. You will have to sit through a few ads to get it... but wow... the world that is unlocked by xp on this tiny little pad is amazing! Good luck!

SOURCE: Fujitsu LT C-500 pen not working

Hello Zerozero, I hope to be of some assistance to you... I myself have the same tablet and just recently successfully upgraded to XP. Apparently due to licensing issues the pen driver isn't allowed to run on XP. To make it work there's two ways, the hard way involving a software download and much pain, the other way is 'relitivly' easy... lets try that way first.
Now... you'll notice that when you restart it will still say that the pen cannot be started... but this should only limit the CIC software from starting... meaning that to actually write on your tablet you'll need to install microsoft office... it has built in writing pad software, and dictation software (which is my personal favorite). Good luck and God speed! If you have any problems let me know!

i had the same problem, i had to install the updates on the "drivers and applications restore cd".  however that didnt work. so i had to download the 1.030 driver from the fujitsu web site.  this worked. but when i tried to calibrate the tablet i was not able to get it aligned.
there used to be 2 different programs for updating the tablet, but now i cannot find the other one.

Try booting up into safemode.

Reboot your pc.
Keep pressing F8 before you see the windows logo.
If you did it right, you should come to a screen where you can select Safemode.

If that doesn't work call Fujitsu support and ask for a recovery disk.
