Question about JBL SCS145.5 System

Foreign matter in my subwoofer

My daughter dropped block(s) into my husband's JBL Sub160 subwoofer. How do I/can I get them out?

So far, I have counted almost 30 screws (3 different sizes) and one big bolt - I don't want to demolish the functioning subwoofer in trying to get a toy or two out of it.

There are four Phillips head screws on the bottom of the sub woofer. Carefully remove these screws being certain not to puncture the speaker. The speaker should be easily pried from the hole by using one of the holes around the perimeter of the speaker, be careful not to puncture the speaker. There are two wires attached to the speaker, they can only be replaced on the terminals they came off of as they are different sizes. Carefully pull these wires from the speaker and retrieve the blocks. Re assemble in the reverse order you took the unit apart. Hope this helps.

Can u pick it up and shake it or keep turning it on its sides until all blocks come out. :-) Gravity can do many good and bad things. Perspective is everything. Good luck... GURU JAY

The subwoofer stops working and makes a loud flat sound that can only be stopped by unplugging it. I replaced the subwoofer with another one in the house so it's not a receiver or wire connection...

It is possible that the amplifier within the unit is faulty; The best you can do is to put the woofer ON for about 12 hours so that if there is any chance of any capacitors being faulty or has electrlytic drying.
if this wont solve the unit must be opened to check the amplifier. Possible failure of the input source selector as the woofer is humming.

JBL PB10 has lost power even though still plugged into wall, any suggestions?

Do you mean like the subs power lights dimming when playing it at volumes it once had no problem playing, or loss in sound, distortion?

No sound out of JBL LSR25P speakers attached to keyboard

problem could be in wiring, fuse, crossover or the components can be damaged. the original JBL tweeter and 5.25" speaker are no longer available so replacement options would be the only alternative.

Thump at the time of shutoff

The amplifier in the sub as with any other amplifier has a capacitor in it. Essentially a battery that holds a charge. When you trun things off such as subs or amps with a powerstrip instead of the intended on off button, the power supply has been cut, but the capacitor is still energizing the unit. So it catches the noise in the line.
