The tv was working but had a blue glow and a

not a clear blue convergence so i changed the fluid in the blue lens it was very cloudy yellowish gross color anyway i did not leak any on the boards or any where else that was a pain by the way got all the air bubbles out and now the power light on the button comes on and you hear it click once like the power turned on sometimes it will keep making a repetitive click like it is trying to initialize but can't

  • scorpiojoe76 Feb 04, 2010

Idid not unplug any thing during the process except the tv itself. I am baffled myself on why it will not energize. could a fuze cause the problem? i am so frustrated because i was very careful and did not touch anything to do with the elecronics

  • scorpiojoe76 Feb 04, 2010

If there is a fluid drop that got away what action do i take to clean it up or remove it? is their a cleaner or special solution?

  • scorpiojoe76 Feb 04, 2010

By petrol do you mean gas?

  • scorpiojoe76 Feb 05, 2010

i cleaned the whole area under the bulb with petrol the board and all what are the chances of it running right underneath the lens area arond the base can that mess something up and how long should i wait before i plug itin and try it. how long does the tv hold power after it was unplugged. 15 minuts after un plugged i put fuse back in fter cleaning and it arced at me

  • scorpiojoe76 Feb 05, 2010

that did the trick and tv is back on and working. We now have another problem and that is this yellow color on the picture. what can we do to get this fixed? we checked the convergience points and all are matching up fine. red and blue are fine but this yellow color is now on the picture.

  • scorpiojoe76 Feb 05, 2010

their is a hump in the bottom of the screen like a void in converfence screen to got it to go away before with convergence but came back the opposite on the covergence first the red was above the green and i was able to pull it down and fix it now it is the opposite of that what do i do ?

Please check High Voltage Block for possible cracks on it that cause leakage of high volts and this problem can prevent TV to turn on.
Or any electrolytic capacitor got pop in circuit, specially in power supply or deflection section.

Please check all those connectors that were unplugged during fluid change.
As you said you been take care not to drop fluid on any circuit board then there is no other obvious reason to shut down working tv. Check high voltage wires are plugged correctly and other connectors are plugged properly in their respective jacks on circuit boards.

I do not think about any fuse got blew because tv is getting power, it is just some protection circuit activated for some reason.
A close look may help you to find out some fluid drops on circuit board right under that tube.

Clean fluid drop with petrol dipped cotton buds.

Yes, be careful when cleaning the board, tv must be unplugged.

At least 1 hour time should be given to evaporates the petrol then you can plug tv back in.
As you said, it arced, that means there is high voltage leakage, please check flyback transformer and high voltage block that holds thick wires of flyback transformer and tubes.

I would also suggest to get help of local tech if you feel difficulty in finding out problem.

Yellow color on screen means tv is missing green color to make correct white balance in picture.
Check green tube is working fine?

Hi, It could well be the power supply that is in the back of your set. Have a repairman check it out. It's not a do it yourself thing. Good luck.

T.V won't turn back on

Sounds like a component shorted out for sure. I will guess he will say, "It needs a new power board". I would guess a transistor or microchip burnt out. Probably ESD damage from a new factory worker.

No picture, no sound, power light steady green

First: Check the power outlet. Check it with a good lamp so you know you are getting power to the set.
Secondly: Check the power cord. Wiggle it around the molded ends to make sure it is not open inside the molded portion of the plugs.

Thirdly: If you know for sure the set is getting power and still no indication at all (you should be getting some little light on the front panel; standby indication) then there may be a fuse on the back panel or just inside the back cover (you will have to remove it; after unplugging the power cord) that needs replaced.

Fourthly: After all these checks if you are getting nothing, you may have some failure inside that is very serious. Normally we do not recommend serious repairs to a set over 4 years of age. This is because the set is likely to develop some other problem soon after the repair is made; further, the repairs are getting more expensive day by day while the price of new sets is coming down dramatically. Lastly, the new sets have better picture, longer lasting circuits and better features.

Hope this is a good solution for you.

thanks for your questions.

Power button Flashes

For the first one, please list the model number and count the blinks. Also, can you please post each problem separately. It will get too confusing trying to address 3 sets with different but similar problems.
Thanks,

#1 When I turn on the TV the power button comes on then blinks 6 times then goes off for a few seconds then repeats the cycle. I have sound over my surround system during this time but no picture.
#2 My sound would crackle and pop every once and a while until now it does nothing. I have to watch it with the surround sound on.
