It can be any number of things that cause this:
1. Broken power cord
2. Failed on off switch
3. Failed trigger switch
4, Brush or brush tube assy failure (Most common failures)
5. Open armature winding
6. Open field winding

If you can not get continuity across the power cord with the switch on and trigger switch depressed yhe only option for further troubleshooting is to open the unit.

You can go to this page then click on go to power tools store and under model number use R161

The manual lists all 50 parts in your unit.

Item 16: Brush assy part # 968304-026

Model R163GK router. Where can I get a working manual?

The user's manual for the Ryobi R163GK fixed base router is available from Home Depot on the product page: . Look on the right hand side of the page for the Use and Care Manual. The direct link to the manual is .

I hope this helps. I think the K indicates that the unit was for Home Depot sales; the router is the same as the R163/R163G. Ryobi has the same manual here, , if you leave off the K.

What would make the foot peddle not work. The machine is plugged in and on.

Does it spin freely if you spin the wheel by hand, or could there be some thread jammed inside? Do you hear it buzzing like it's trying to start spinning, or is there no indication that the motor is getting power?

Yes. There should be a shear pin through the shaft. Disassemble the mechanism and replace the pin. It's designed to protect the shaft from damage.

Blade revs fast, doesnt get up to speed before it binds and smokes.

Remove the belt and try to spin the blade. If it still acts that way, you need to replace the arbor bearings. If it spins easily and smoothly and has no play side to side, then the motor is the problem.

How do i turn on a ryobi band saw

First check that it's plugged into a good outlet. Either try another electrical item in that outlet or try the band saw in an outlet you know to be good. Next step; the power switch on the riser has to have a yellow switch key (Ryobi part number 0121010232) in it to work properly. Without the key the switch will not activate the motor. If that's all OK, you should use a volt meter to first check that power is getting to the switch through the cord, then through the cord to the motor. If that's all in order you may have a problem with the motor that can only be tested by a service center with the proper equipment to check the capacitor and armature conductance.

Fan not working, outlet is live, product is 6 mos old, located in an indoor swimming pool (endless swim machine) Hi E Dry 100,

If the fan does not operate with the fan switch set "on", there is a problem with the power supply, internal wiring, or the fan itself.

First make sure the dehumidifier is plugged in to a working outlet.

Next unplug the dehumidifier and remove the cabinet cover. Check the internal wiring for loose connections.

Next remove the fan and check that it is able to spin freely (by hand). If it spins freely, it should be replaced. Call the manufacturer at 1-800-533-7533 for parts and instructions.

Chainsaw starts great, but chain wont go

When you tighten the two side nuts, make sure you haven't jammed the chain on the gear. The chain must move freely(by hand) while tightening and when at proper adjustment

My fan stop working the blades are not turning and all it does it's a noise but it don't spin

Is this your indoor fan (this isn't a window unit is it)? Turn the power off and make sure the fan spins freely by hand. If it does then check the capacitor for the fan. If it doesn't spin freely then you may need a new fan motor.

Runs but acts like in bind when gased

Did you recently take the shaft off of the trimmer? If so, you didn't get the drive shaft seated properly. You will have to take the shaft off again and try to seat the shaft again. You may have to pull on the rope slightly as you fit the shaft into place.
