Question about Ryobi ROUTER KIT P163K
My Ryobi router is not working at all. It spins freely by hand but acts like its getting no power. It is not the outlet.
It can be any number of things that cause this:
1. Broken power cord
2. Failed on off switch
3. Failed trigger switch
4, Brush or brush tube assy failure (Most common failures)
5. Open armature winding
6. Open field winding
If you can not get continuity across the power cord with the switch on and trigger switch depressed yhe only option for further troubleshooting is to open the unit.
You can go to this page then click on go to power tools store and under model number use R161
The manual lists all 50 parts in your unit.
Item 16: Brush assy part # 968304-026
