Try the flash drive in another computer. IF it works there you know the problem is with your computer and not the drive itself. If it doesn't work in either computer the drive has gone bad. Regards, Joe

If your device drivers are up to date, the USB ports are totally recognized. If the USB device plugged into the port is not initialized, it may not be recognized by the computer operating system. If a USB flash drive was working and no longer works; it could have been damaged when removed from the computer when last used. Flash drives are sensitive to Static Charge. Like when you rub the feet on a carpet and a spark of electricity jumps from a finger to another person. You must use the Eject method when removing Flash Drives.
did you try to plug it in other computer..some of the computers needs some of the drivers so that if you try to plug a device on it..and recognize that you have the driver in your computer otherwise if the driver of your flash drive didn't recognize of your computer..try to search it to your computer if it has on your computer..if not try to search the driver and install it in your computer.
Plug in your flash drive, then go to Control Panel, System, Device Manager.
YOu should find the flash drive listed under USB Devices.
Without taking the flash drive out of your computer, use the Device Manager function to "Remove" the drive from Windows.
When that is finished, take the flash drive out of your computer.
Reboot.
Now, plug in the flash drive and Windows should recognize it again.
If you originally had to load drivers from a manufacturer's CD for the
flash drive, you'll have to load them again. You might have to do that
if you're runing Win98 or WinMe or Win2000.
Most probably you have a drive letter conflict? If so, right click "My computer" choose "Manage" and locate "Disk management" - here, in the middle lower panel, you should be able to find your usb-memory stick, right click it and assign it a drive letter that you're sure is not in use.
Try to plug it in another hub, if your computer still doesn't recognize it, try plugging it in another computer and see if that computer recognizes it. If it does, then there might be something wrong with other computer. If it doesn't, then there might be driver issues with your USB.
With the flash drive plugged into your computer, go to start>settings>control panel>administrative tools>computer management>disk management
Your flash drive should be there. Right click it and select "change drive letter and paths." Click on "change." Change the drive letter.
Just follow the directions to finish.
Sometimes, if you turn the computer on, insert the flash drive, and reboot, the drive will show up, it is detected on start along with your other drives.
(I recommend starting at the end of the alphabet (Z) and work backwards when selecting the drive letters for flash drives, that way, in the future it will be easier to recognize them.)
