Double check the alignment of the sensor and magnet, the house may have settled and the alignment may have changed enough to show the fault / set the alarm off. There should be a notch or series of notches on the transmitter, make sure the magnet is centered on that. Also make sure the gap between the two is as small as you get it and still able to operate the windows (both vertically and horizontally). If all that checks out, you could have a tamper switch (GE uses a spring to hold it down) that is not getting fully depressed. or, you may have a bad transmitter. If it is the spring, you may be able to stretch it out a little to ensure good pressure on the tamper switch.
Check your ignition control module, usually mounted in the distributor, under the cap..Sometimes the back side dries out, losing contact and burning the unit. If you replace it, make sure you use good dielectric grease on the back to ensure contact. When you remove the icm (typically needs a special GM tool) it may not look or smell burnt, but if it's dry then I would strongly suspect it is your problem. Good luck!!
I don't know that this will work, but try using the key and opening the door at the same time, both sides, this procedure works for locked doors and a dead battery, hope this helps, let me know.
Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.
