Question about LG LHB953 Theater System

Open Question

LG LHB953 won't play some newer Blu-ray discs.

Won't play newer Blu-ray discs, no firmware update available. It seems every disc that has the warning "your blur-ray player may need a firmware update" that I have tried has had problems (different failure each time, some video, some audio).
These units are not that old! I updated the firmware when I first got it, but haven't been informed of a software update since.
Other than slow startup, this is an excellent machine, but LG needs a firmware update as more and more discs are coming up unplayable.

Vizio vbr210 error 11000404 How do I update firmware to watch newer blu ray movies?

I had the same problem -- we even returned the disc and got a new one. Go to the Vizio site and download the firmware for your player. Put it on a USB stick and plug it into the player. Follow the onscreen instructions (basically just press OK). The entire process takes less than 5 minutes from download to finish.

The Hunger Games works perfectly now.

How can i update a firmware on lg bd player

go to the website site and see if a newer firmware is available for your player. If your player cannot connect to the internet you will be instructed to burn the utility file along with the updated firmware file from your computer. The instructions should be included at the web site. When you burn the disc you then load the disc into your player and it will update it .If your player can connect to the internet then run a line from your router or hub to the player select from the menu list on your player that should say update firmware. It will automatically log on to lg and download a newer version of the firmware. If you have the newest it will tell you no newer version available.Hope that helps
