Canon mp180 I have a printer canon mp180.The ink it's runing low and i take him to recharge.I take it beack home and wen I put the ink's in to the printer and I turn it on the printer show me in to the screen : check printer error 5100.What it's hapening?Please help me...i Don't know what to do and I realy need she.Thanck you for help me...Please help

I had this problem. Removed both ink cartridges and carefully wiped the contacts and print nozzles with a tissue. Re-inserted cartridges and printer now works perfectly.

Sounds like the 'chip' fitted to the Cartridge has been damaged .. is the Cartridge light 'on' ? (or blinking ?) = if the light is out, chances are it's the chip .. if so, the only solution seems to be to buy a genuine Canon replacement (comes with a new chip).

If the light is on or blinking, there may be a software solution (search the Web for 'Canon printer Service Mode' )

You have to look online for the canon tool to reset the ink counters. When you refill these cartridges you have to run this program in order to re-use the cartridges.

Print Cartridge Problems

i have an mp170 all in one and when you fill the cartriges they dont show up as full cannon put a chip in the cartridge to con people into buying new ones try siting the cartridges in warm water for a few hours then blot the cartridge with tisue paper if it dont blot out the ink the cartride is finnished and you need a new one .To align the cartridge you flick through the menu on the printer not pc screen look for alignment page print this off then you have to pick the dark boxes on the sheet shade the bit next to it and put on your scan bed and click ok it should scan the sheet and reset the alignment

If the cartridges are refills they won't show ink levels but you should still be able to print. Then just print until appears to run out of ink,
