Do you need any more information? Should I go to another Expert?

  • widgetser Feb 04, 2010

Okay, The mnaual does not list a code. I am going to go into a little more detail to see if this will help.

The system was working fine till I accidently was going through the set up system and hit PAL instead of NTSC. When I did this the TV,LG- LCD, suddenly lost the signal. Is there anything you can think of that I can get the setting screen back on hte TV so that I can chnage the setting. I cna not believe there is no reset button or code.

I am hoping you have information on a DVD Player: ClassicDVEH150R. In the set up process I have accidently hit the Pal system and I needed the NTSC.
The DVD was working great till I did this. Is there a code that I can enter to return the DVD to its orignal setting? Do you have a phone number of the company that made this system so I can call them?

The only way to do this is to use the menu item that says "restore factory settings", but that can only be done with an on screen display of the menu, there is no magic reset button, most TV's accept both PAL and NTSC, just check the setup menu of the TV, then u can change the TV to accept the NTSC signal then u can see the DVD player to reset the output back to PAL, then just change the TV back as well and you are done.

Actually dvd player has been shifted to PAL color system and you need PAL system TV to get its menu to change color system back to NTSC.
Now your LG lcd tv does not have PAL system facility so does not show you dvd player picture.
If you have any mult-color system TV then hook up dvd player with that tv to get it picture/ screen and change its color system back to NTSC.

How can i hook up a dvd player to a Sylvain tv with no remote

Ok the brand of the tv is not as relevant as the particular model number as each set varies. generically speaking without having to ask you for more information, some tv set allow you to access auxiliary inputs without a remote by pressing a combination of buttons or repeatedly pressing the channel up or down button until the inputs are cycled. A lot of set also allow you to navigate through inputs by the menu, a menu is often accessible by buttons on the set. If none of these options are avaliable try contacting your tv manufactor and asking how to navigate the inputs Witout the remote, which keep in mind is highly possible that you may not be able to do so. Consider replacing the remote with a universal remote.
good luck and thanks

You would need a factory reset on the TV. You will need to call the manufactor for the reset information.

Resetting the TV
If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:

NOTE:
Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.
1. Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet.
2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...)
3. Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds.
4. Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV.
5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again.
6. Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices.
7. Turn on the TV.

Hope it may help you;

Dvd recorder remote control

Anytime your unit displays RC1, 2, or 3 - the remote code needs to be reset. Other messages are "chk remote n" or "set n", n being the number 1, 2 or 3. These remote codes are set in case you have multiple products that interact w/ the remote - so when operating one device the other doesn't interfere. Unfortunately, every now and then for completely unknown reasons, they can slip out of the proper code. All you have to do (if your remote is, in fact, functional) is press and hold the number on the remote that corresponds with that which displays on the unit - in your case the number 3, and hold the Enter key at the same time for about 5 to 10 seconds. This should resume operation shortly thereafter. However, you will not see any confirmation on the display as you are performing this reset. It is trial and error.

Unwanted black rectangle on the TV screen

I'm not sure what type of TV you are using,, but most all Large Screens have a reset button someplace. You should be able to reset the TV and fix the problem. Its not the remote, making the image appear, but a command from it was misinterpeted. Sometimes turning the set off will work, but most often it needs to be reset.

EXCEPTION... if you are using a cable box. Disconnect it from power, wait 1 minute and then see if the problem exists. If the cable box is on even with the DVD you may still have this issue. Please reset the cable, and if that doesn't work, reset the TV.
Thanks! //D
