Question about Brother HL-4040CN Laser Printer

I have a Brother HC-4040CN. When pulling the new stuff out of the machine, I accidentally removed the rear fuser cover. Now, I cannot get it back on. Can you please assist me with this?

Thanks, but I don't want to pay more money for an answer. Anyone have a FREE answer?

I have the user's manual here as well, and it doesn't show how to install the fuser cover.

  • avrcd Feb 05, 2010

Neither of those are helpful at all. I don't understand why I keep getting things sent to me that aren't helpful. Is this what I'm paying for? This problem is in the BACK of the printer... not the front.

THat does not show how to put on a fuser cover when it's come completely off. I need to know how to install it when it's come off.

Okay.... I figured out with my copier repair guy. We took the entire fuser out, with a screwdriver, and then put it on the fuser when it was out. It went right in!

Hello,

I would like to assist you with your printer issue today. If you don't mind, could you be more specific about what happened when you pulled "the new stuff" out of the printer. (What is the new stuff and when did you notice the problem?)

Thanks

Hi, we just used iron on paper in the printer, and the paper got stuck. we think it melted to the rolls on the back of the printer, the oragane and black rollers. what do we do????

Oops...You need to remove the fuser unit from the printer & attempt to carefully remove the melted paper. You can use a sharp object to get started but be very careful not to damage the surface of the heat roller. This needs to be a slow patient job but it should come off.
Otherwise you will need a new fuser unit.

#10 envolopes crimple when printing.

Open the back cover. Where the green handles are, there are gray handles attached to these. Move those all the way down, that is the envelope setting. I did not know this until I ordered a new fuser, the new one has labels on it!

I have a Brother HL-4040CN. It says there is a rear paper jam. I opened the back, cleared the paper and reclosed. The error message won't clear. I have taken all the removable pieces, front and back...

Probably when you remove the paper, some sensor was placed out of order (by the sheet pull) , or is with any malfunction. You have to check them. Are at least 3 sensors (1- presence of paper on the tray, -2 paper entrance, - 3 paper passed in the fuser).
