Yes, there is AC primary fuse on the power supply board, you need to open it up.

When turning on my emachine desktop the monitor states no signal someone suggested that I need a fuse, Where would that fuse be located?

hello if the monitor wanted a fuse .. then it wont turn on.. which means its getting power !!!
you problem is the pc ,or monitor cable fell out at the back of pc, or you may have a defective memory stick ,that if the pc is getting power and you are seeing light on the pc.. if the pc is dead nothing lighting.. no beeps, not even the optical not opening then you have a power supply problem,
if u had a surge be it went dead try this, unplug system for 5 mins, the plug it back in, try powering on.. if still nothing , most likely , memory, video card or power supply is defective, but i think. its your memory if getting power

My monitor doesn't go on anymore. Las night I had a pop-up appearing on the screen. I closed my computer and started over again. I'm sure I didn't turn off my monitor. Everything went well until this...

Hi there,

First, check to make sure the power cable is plugged properly in the back of the monitor and into the surge protector. You can try a different power outlet, but if you're still having the same problem and the light isn't turning on, it's likely you've either blown the fuse inside the monitor, or you had a power surge and blown something inside the monitor. This happens when you don't use a surge protector and just plug the monitor into the wall.

That said, if the above doesn't work then you have a hardware problem with your monitor and it needs to be serviced.

No indication of power. Is there a fuse

Has a 3.15A 250V fuse inside.
If it is blown, there must be a reason unless it was just a defective fuse or a surge.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

My Dell Monitor is completely blank, is there a fuse to replace? We think it was a power surge in our office.

Monitors do not generally have fuses, and if they do, they would be contained within the power supply. If a power surge did indeed fry it, you may have to replace it. If you have another power supply of the same type around, try it. If it works, you just need to replace the power supply. If it does not, the monitor may be dead.

For future reference, you should always plug all electronic equipment into a surge protector, or even better, a battery backup (excluding printers).

Good luck!

How do you restart a nec lcd monitor, had power surge everything but monitor gets power?

The power surge probably blew the fuse inside the tv, first check the fuse inside the mains plug, if that is good then you will have to take the back cover off the tv, you are looking for the power board follow the mains cable into the tv and you will find it. Look for a fuse on the board, pop it out of the fuse holder, if you have or can get hold of a multimetre check the fuse for continuity if it hasnt you will have get hold off another fuse, you can normally get them from your local electrical repair shop, they dont cost much and the liklyhood is they will probably give you one free of charge.

Monitor is dead - tried swapping cable. Had a power blip a few minutes earlier. Does the monitor have an internal fuse?

Rupert597, It should if unit's ac line cord is plugged into a outlet. Do you have a SURGE or TRANSIENT voltage protected power-strip connected to your GEAR!!! 12fixlouie

Monitor just went off. no power light. changed fuse but monitor is completely dead

possibly a power surge killed the main board in the LCD. if the fuse was blown i would suspect a power surge. you could replace the circuit board. either that died or the power supply died- depending on if it has internal or external power supply that might be blown as well.

i would take it to a professional LCD/ LAPTOP repair person. they should be-able to test it and let you know what needs to be replaced

On the back side unscrew everything you can unscrew, then using flat screwdriver with 1/4" wide blade try to disconnect halves of plastic case, there are plastic fixers over the edges, inside, so try to not brake them all :)
Next, you will need to unscrew metal cover inside to get access to the PCBs. If monitor was killed by surge, most likely you will see what is fried there. Check fuse on the PCB.
