Question about Xerox DocuColor 12 Color Copier

I need help with xerox.

Xerox majestic 5760, which has error code of 08-300. Running single color ( say black) jams going into, but before getting into fuser rollers. Multicolor mode passes fuser entrance 1 time and then stops with error code 08-300. This machin is in my home and gets little use. This problem just started and happens every cycle. Please help. Thank you.

    Thanks for the help Mr. Tryit. I have not done anything to this unit. I am not very familiar with color copiers, but have years of experience on black and white models back in the 80's and 90's. This unit the paper attaches to the drum in order to put the 4 colors onto page. The paper in new with no wrinkles , not refurbed paper, nothing like that. Doesn't appear to be an actual jam. Seems like whatever is causing error 08-300 is stopping the machine, no jam. I have cheated the door and watched paper coming off of drum, no hesitation. Paper does not get into fuser rollers but does pass a photosensor. This sensor may be bad? Sensor plug is J147. The trasfer/seperation coronas look good, no arcing or traces of that.Pick off pawl from drum to fuser is working. Again thanks for help.

    Mr. Tryit, just reread your post. There is image on paper and it is aligned correctly. You mentioned resetting the NVM? What or how is this accomplished? In order to clear the error 080-300, machine has to be turned off and back on.

It really sounds like there is a sensor that is hanging up.
Or if its an optical sensor its dirty.
Leave the machine off for a while and inspect the fuser area for actuators in the paper path.
You may have a spring off of on of those sensor assemblys or it is hanging up on a cover.
That sounds like what you are describing since you can make one color copy.
Also, make sure your paper size settings are correct. If you have the setting different from the actual paper size in the machine, it will shut off with more or less a false jam due to the machine expecting a size paper and the paper path sensors do not see that size as the machine is running.

    Fault code 8300 is a transfer/fuser drawer fault. Is the transfer seated properly, did you look at all the drives, cheat the interlocks and watch the paper run across the transport for stalling?

    Reset the NVM for corruption clearance? I have no idea what you have done.

    Is the paper damaged? Corners folded? Or just stopping undamaged on in the transfer fuser area?

    Is there any noticible stuttering as its passing through the paper path?

    Seems to be a sensor issue, yes. But as you know, it would have to not be 100 percent failed because you couldn't clear the jam if it was.

    It's been several years since I worked on that family and something obvious is escaping me.

    Still seems to me a sensor has or is failing since there is no damage to the paper, and you see no eratic paper movement.

    Only thought is are you 100 percent sure the fuser is driving correctly. Not a bad pressure roll bearing or the heat roll is actually slipping inside a bushing? Good one..

    Color paper paths are identical to B&W paper paths.

    Here is a procedure. but the tool you most likely
    Perform the following Check to ensure proper CTR Drum Assembly alignment, which will allow for a more efficient transfer of image and transport of paper.

    NOTE: A CTR Alignment Shaft (P/N 6E58300) is required to perform this procedure.

    1. Switch off the power and disconnect the Power Cord.

    2. Open the front door and pull out the CTR Assembly (PL 7.1).

    3. Remove Knobs A, B, and C and the CTR Cover (PL 7.2).
    NOTE: If there is difficulty inserting the Alignment Shaft in step 4a / 4b of this procedure, or there is a problem with optimizing for mottle, it will be necessary to remove the CTR Film (REP 7.2.1) and realign the Front and Rear Rollers of the CTR Drum Assembly by performing the Alignment Procedure that is listed on the next page.

    4a. For the 5760 / 5765 (7 holes), insert the Alignment shaft and:

    1. Rotate the CTR to align the 7 positioning holes.

    2. Insert the Shaft in the round hole in the CTR Frame that aligns with the oval hole in the front of the CTR Drum Assembly. Continue inserting the Shaft through the Front Roller, the Drum Assembly Frame, the Rear Roller, and through the rear of the CTR Frame. (Figure 1) on attached file.

    NOTE: If the shaft cannot be fully inserted, proceed to the Alignment Procedure.

    4b. For the 5790 (4 holes) insert the Alignment shaft and:
    1. Rotate the CTR to align the 4 positioning holes.

    2. Insert the Shaft over the top of the front of the CTR Frame, and through the oval hole in the front CTR Drum Assembly. Continue inserting the Shaft through the Front Roller, the Drum Assembly Frame, the Rear Roller, and butt it up to the rear of the CTR Frame. The shaft must remain in contact with the CTR Frame and CTR Drum Assembly throughout the procedure. (Figure 2)

    NOTE: If the shaft cannot be fully inserted, proceed to the Alignment Procedure.

    5. If the shaft inserts easily, then The CTR Rollers and the CTR Inner Frame are in proper alignment and are not the cause of the machines problems.

    Alignment Procedure

    1. Remove the TC Baffle Assembly. (REP 7.9.4)

    2. Remove the CTR Film. (REP 7.2.1)

    3. Loosen 7 screws by 1/2 turns:
    a. 3 in the Front Roller marked with red. (re-position the CTR as needed with the Cam handle)
    b. 2 in the front collar (marked with white)
    c. 2 in the rear collar (1 must be accessed through the TC rail (PL 7.6) with a small shaft phillips head screwdriver).
    (NOTE: You must remove a ground strap for 5790 only)

    4. Loosen the 2 screws at each end of the Tie Bar. (PL 7.6)

    5. With the CTR in the "open" position, carefully insert the Alignment Shaft through the holes as shown in the following figures and continue until the shaft has been inserted all the way to the rear of the CTR Frame.

    6. Tighten all the accessible screws previously loosened, including those on the Tie Bar. It will be possible to access only 1 of the Front Roller screws and 1 of the rear collar screws at this point. With all accessible screws firmly tightened, gently withdraw the alignment shaft and reposition the CTR as needed to tighten the remaining 2 Front Roller screws and the last rear collar screw.

    7. Be sure the Alignment Shaft can be inserted and removed easily. Return to step 4 of the Alignment Procedure if needed.

    8. Reinstall or replace the CTR Film as appropriate.

    9. Run DC928 (TR0), and check/perform the geometric adjustments as needed. (IQ 3.2.3 Setup for Geometric Checkout for TR0, Ros Scan Timing, and CTR Tacking only)

    10. Optimize the Transfer Blade for mottle. (IQ Defect Sample #14 and perform the corrective action)
    NOTE: Save the Alignment Shaft. There may be a need to align the CTR Frame in the future. Be sure to store the shaft in a place that it will not be bent.

Error code 7-402

Error codes 7-401 to 7-404 are life end for the tray rollers. If no jamming probs then enter diags mode (Back and'i' buttons and switch on) scroll down to NVRAM access and select. find CRU counters and select, clear each tray counter and then exit.

Paper jam

I would make sure you opened and closed EVERY section of the machine that was indicated on the op panel.... even if you found the paper already..

Wat is the code about this problem 08-300 its maine the Füser is not start on the same time when the cluts is not werking oder the pall is not gooing to this point open the front dore an you cann sche small cluts this is no good contact of its not working then you can puss the small wiel to the bik rol en the paper wil to the füser turn the green wiel and the paper go to füser out. I had this problem also with Xerox 5760 the same .

Error Code 09,038.46:103468 help!

That code is a back stick count failure.
You want to look in your ink loader, see if there is a stick jammed, twisted, broken or in anyother way out of place or hung up in the slot.
Be sure you loaded a 8550 stick also, since the shapes on the different phaser printer sticks are all different.
You may have to carefully remove the black sticks and reload them. You can take a screw and screw it into the ink stick, slide it back and remove.
Most likely you will find a gap in the ink sticks causing the problem. Here are the Xerox support page instructions.

  1. Open and close the Top Cover to resolve the problem.
  2. If the problem persists, arrange the ink sticks until there are no spaces between sticks of the same color.
  3. Check for non 8500/8550 ink sticks jammed in the ink load chutes. If non 8500/8550 ink sticks, whether manufactured by Xerox or by a non-Xerox ink vendor, caused the ink sick jam, contact support to place a service call.

PHASER 8500DN ERROR CODE: 09,038,46.8515

That is a black ink stick count failure.
It is not seeing the black ink stick.
See if a stick is broken or not in place. One may be twisted or just jammed.
Outside chance you would need an ink loader because the sensor is not detecting the ink
Check the black sticks see if you can clear it by moving them around or sliding them up and out and reloading.

Docucolor 12 error code HELP

Black toner problem.Probably You have low toner sensor defect.
But try first to vacuum and clean black toner dispenser.You must vacuum whole path wich is used to transport black toner to developer unit.Then if printing B/W print only, you must print 10 full color sheets every 100 copies.
