These units seem to be suffering from a bad connection on the inside of the unit. My wife's did the same thing. It would power off. Then one day it would never power on. There was a connection inside that wasn't making contact. First try cleaning the 4 brass connection tabs on the watch and check your charger to make sure the tabs are raised and not squished. Second try to reset the unit. Hit mode reset and power buttons all at the same time. Hold these for 3 seconds and then release. If these do not work here is what I did. There are no screws holding the unit together. I used a exacto blade to very carefully pry the unit apart along the side seam. It's not easy to do. Be very cautious and gentle. Work the thickness of the blade into the joint to gently wedge apart. You are not trying to remove material! Once apart you will see some fingers that make a connection between the upper and lower part of the unit. This is where the problem was with my wife's 305. I gently raised these tabs to make a better connection, It's been working ever since. I didn't try it before but try pressing very hard on the unit where it says Forerunner 305. The case is very hard so it might not work. But if it powers up when pushing you found your problem. Hope this helps. Here is a link I found on opening a 205 (Same process) http://ctorunner.googlepages.com/dismantleforerunner205 To put the unit back together use Automotive silicon/gasket maker. Use a tooth pick to put a VERY small amount of silicon around the entire seam. Put the two half's together and wrap tightly with electrical tape. Test the unit immediately to see if it powers on and off. If it does not open it back up and raise the small prongs that make the connection from the bottom half to the top half. If any silicon squishes out the sides wipe with water and a rag. Let the unit sit over night. In the morning remove the tape.

Hello,it sound to me like you have a (skip) forward button either on the remote control or the units front panel stuck . Remove the remote from the room and see if it continues,if so than look closely at the skip forward button on the unit itself.

I have a Tissot Automatic PR 516 from the early 70s. Time is kept well. Date moves forward correctly but it is the wrong date. I am unable to turn back the date. I am able to turn back the day. Any...

The crown wheel (winder) should have 3 positions, (1) the normal winding position (3) fully out; at this position the watch stops and the time can be adjusted.

(2) This position is between the 1 & 2 and is used to adjust the day and date. If you wish to change the date by winding the crown backwards or forwards.

Since watches can very a little, if turning the crown when in position 2 the date does not change, pull the crown to position 3 and turn the hands until you pass the midnight position, when the date will change and then re-set the time. If you wish to advance the time more than one day, when it changes, wind the crown backwards past the midnight position and then wind it forwards again. Repeat until the correct date is showing and then re-set the time. The exact distance you need to turn the crown to change the date will have to be found by experimenting!

I have to turn sound up to 48-49 to watch a movie and get good sound. Seems it should loud in the 20's.

Most movies are mixed at a much lower volume than CD's because there is a THX standard of 85dB which allows for greater headroom. The amount you have to turn up the gain on your amp is relative to the sensitivity of your speakers and the distance you are from them; every time you double the distance from your speaker you lose 6dB.
Most stock surround sound speakers have a lower sensitivity, meaning less SPL per watt/meter distance.

Laser assembly is losing its ability to properly focus on the disk surface. It is going to La La land and needs to be replaced.

Get another player since repair is not cost effective.

New watch is losing 5 to 15 minutes a day

This could be that the battery is slow. Newer swiss watches have a indicator in the movement of the watch that makes the sweep second hand skip every few seconds to indicate that the battery is slow. On regular japan made watches the watch just simply starts slowing down. Your watch could be new but the battery in it could have a long shelf life.

The unit receives signals from 3 (or more) satellites, and uses very sensitive timing to determine your distance from each of them. The unit does not transmit to the satellites, but only receives what they transmit... so it is a "receiver, only".

See here for the details of how a GPS works:

Hope that helps you...

Static and skipping

You might need to have it professionally cleaned / diagnosed. The problem might not be a dirty reader, but a misaligned tray. Many trays, over time, become misaligned. Some more than others. Depends on your use and abuse of the unit. The issues generally happen towards the end of the tracks.
