Hi Anonymous, 1992 and later Touring Models, fuel pump fuses and relays will be behind the right side panel, everything else will be behind the left side panel to access fuses pull back on the front two locking tabs and slide the cover up. Good luck and have nice day.

I replaced my color cartridge on my HP Photosmart C3100 series printer and now it is making a grinding sound, but prints perfectly fine - what is the problem?

You would want to try and reinstall the print cartridges. It is possible that something is just stuck that is why you are hearing the grinding sound.
Let me know.

When I try to print photos from a memory stick it fails to print and tells me to load paper glossy side down even though there is enough paper properly loaded. When I take out the paper the top sheet has...

The problem is that the metal paper stop is not fully recessing into the guide at the rear of the printer and the photo paper is catching on the lip on top of the stop. Take the back cover off the printer and check that the guide has not moved out of position. Also try to twist the photo paper tray to the left or right so the stop lines up better with the guide recess. This worked for my printer tempoarily, but then things went out of allignment again, so I took a slightly more drastic step. With only a single sheet of photo paper in the tray, print another photo. When the photo tray slides back to deliver the paper to the rollers, unplug the power cord from the rear of the printer to stop the tray from moving forward again. With a pair of needlenose pliers, bend the lip on top of the metal paper stop upward. This fixed my problem permanently.

Paper light keeps blinking and won't print I have paper and it's set as default printer

It keeps blinking because there is a paper jam. Open the front cover and take out the toner/drum and see any jammed paper. Also, you can open the back cover, pull the paper guide down to see the rollers.

If the above does not work, take off the front cover. Pull the tabs on the side. Pull out the toner/cartridge. Look for a blue tab on the top, and you need to slide that from right to left. Put everything back and see if this solves the problem.

Kodak Carousel 600 Projector - mechanism stops with slide out

Open the back up and spray just a LITTLE bit of WD-40 into the cavity where the bit of spring emerges from the grease covered cam shaft. This will loosen up the grease that has dried up. It may take up to half an hour to work on the grease. If things are improved but not perfect, repeat. If any WD-40 spills out, mop it up with Q-tips and especially avoid the rubber belt.

Please do NOT advance things manually ans especially don't pry apart any of the plastic or metal cams on the cam shaft in an effort to correct the timing. You will put it out of waht and it will take a whack of time and/or an expert to get it back in whack!

Paper feed problems hp PSC 1510

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button.
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

CANON IP 6700D ERROR6A00

  1. Problem similar on canon ip4300 was solved by removing semi dry ink from black sliding rail. White plastic slide was stuck to the right side (spring was still stretched when printing head I moved to the left). Slide the white plastic slide to the left and clean the rail. This slide must be free to move left and right.

Error 6A00 on MP500

I think the 6A00 is a mechanism jam code.

Regarding Error code 6A00. I have a Canon Pixma iP5000. I got that code. No easy answers on the net so I took it apart myself. The covers are all snap locked on. It was a bit painful but I got the side and top covers off to reveal the print head. There is a device that slides back n forth and acts like a window cleaners squeegie on the printhead. This mechanism seemed to be stuck at its full extention rather than being back at home base. Every time I turned it on and off I could see it tried to move but seemed to be stuck. I gave it a little assistance and that released it. I think it had become blocked up with drying ink and that had acted like a glue holding it out at full extension. The mechanism that drives the sliding squeegie relies on a spring
for it to return. The spring wasn't strong enough to over come the gluey ink and so the whole thing jammed up which is probably what the code means - jammed mechanism. If you are going to try it. Do not force any part of the covers. There are little arrows in the plastic indicating where the snap locks are, stick a flat head screw driver in to release. Trial and error will release the right ones first. You'll release one part only to find it hooked up at the next snap lock. Some are hidden under or on opening covers so keep looking. The base seems to be securly attached to the workings so don't try and get it off. Just top and sides. Ink is water based so a damp rag is all you need to clean.

Red "Paper" light blinking Brother HL-2040

I agree with another su=olution. The paper light was blinking on and off sugesting a paper jam. Paper had jammed in the back roller and displaced the small lever out of its slot.
Open rear cover, open paper guide by pulling it downwards so you can see the rollers, In the middle of the guide you will see a black lever about 25mm long to the right of this you will see a small slot. The guide will have been pushed to the left of this slot and the Plastic cam will be bowing toward the front of the printer (about 3mm). You need to pull the 25mm lever towards the rear of the printer and then slide the plastic cam to the right so the blade part of the cam slides into its correct slot. The blade is about half a mm thick and the slot is the same and is about 60mm to the right of the lever Use a torch to see it easier. This is a 2 minute job once you see what is wrong.
Hope we have helped someone out there fix a printer
