Yes most likely the pump has a worn out bearing

Not necessarily, I have had this same problem a few times and it ends up being a coin inside the pump housing. Makes a vicious racket, and eats away at the pump impellers, but the bearings are fine.

Hi there! I have a Frigidaire Gallery GLGH1642FS1 stacked washer/dryer. Its making an awful grinding noise while trying to pump water out...the drum still seems to be turning though...any suggestions? Do I...

The washer is separate from the dryer as far as the systems go. It may be possible that you accidentally unplugged the connectors to the water hot valve when doing your repair.
The pump is probably the problem with the noise you describe. if the washer has a belt under the washer it is common for these pump bushings to go bad and make a grinding sound. There could be something stuck in the pump also.

What dose oe mean on the display and it makes a grinding noise when it drains the water i think

Drain error: Not fully drained in 10 minutes. Causes: Drain hose too high. objects in pump, drain hose kinked, drain hose air locked, bad control.

Maytag washer makes loud grinding noise during the spin cycle

if it's making a noise then either your drain pump bearing is going out or your thrust bearing is going out (assuming the noise happens in both spin and wash). Tip the washer backwards so that you can get underneath of it. Take the belt off and spin the pump pulley on the right side. This should spin effortlessly.

The middle pulley is the trustbearing pulley. Spin this--- one direction it should have a little bit of resistance--- the other should have more resistance

Washer has started making a heck of racket during the drain/spin cycle. It's not consistant. Two loads may go thru ok no noise. A third load and it will make a very loud grinding chain like noise.

Grinding noises are most often the result of a failing water pump. The noise can increase during the spin\drain cycle due to the added load on the pump. Although less likely it could also be the drive belt rubbing on something or a pulley bearing failing. If you are able to locate and remove the drive belt, you should be able to turn the water pump pulley by hand. If the pump does not turn smoothly it is bad.

After a grinding noise washer stoped..as if no power..does it have a reset button,,,won't drain

many of the Maytags have had a problem with the pump bearing. This is what it sounds like. Tilt the washer back. Look underneath and take the belt off. The pulley on the pump is metal. try turning with your hand both ways. If it grinds that is problem. Let me know if need more info.

Whirlpool Duet Washer Making Loud Grinding Noise

not nesseccarrily your pump, possible you have a rear bearing going bad, which will sound as if a helicopter is coming through your laundry room. ( noisy pump can be the issue , honestly a better and cheapre problem to have) in order to determine if its apump problem you can remove the lower access panel and unplug the pump then start the spinn cycle, if it still loud the pumpms not hte issue.

Does it sound like a bearing noise or more a grinding noise. Could something maybe be stuck in the drain pump. When does it actually make the noise?
