The clicking noise means that the HDD is stuck from the inside. You could take it apart and just move the pointer, if you want.
After fixing the HDD, try to connect it again tot he computer, if it doesn't recognize it, try another USB port. Once connect it, you can try and check in device manager, if there is an exclamation point, it means that you probably need a driver. Also check that your USB cable is in good condition. Hope everything works out OK.

My philips gogear vibe wont turn on

Reset your GoGear with something sharp like the tip of a pen or the end of a paper clip,

if you're device isn't working properly or there's a frozen display.

Insert the sharp object into the "Reset" hole (located at the bottom of the player), and hold it there until the device turns off.

If resetting the device does nothing to restore the display, access the "Philips Device Manager" through your computer to recover the GoGear.

Click "Start" on your computer, then "Programs," "Philips Digital Audio Player," "Aria Device Manager," and then "Philips Device Manager."

This will launch the "Philips Device Manager." Make sure the GoGear is turned off completely. Connect your GoGear to your computer while holding down the "Volume Up" button.

Continue to hold the "Volume Up" button on your GoGear, until the "Philips Device Manager" recognizes the device and enters recovery mode.

Click the "Repair" button when it appears on your computer, then folow the steps to fully recover the GoGear.

Properly disconnect your GoGear from your computer and restart the device.

Recharge your device if your GoGear dies suddenly while playing.

Connect the GoGear to your computer via the supplied USB cord.

Plug one end of the USB cord into a functional, open USB port on your computer. Plug the free, smaller end of the USB cord firmly into the small USB jack on your GoGear and turn your computer on.

This will begin the charging process of your GoGear.

If recharging doesn't work, the battery may need to be replaced.

Check that your GoGear isn't in standby mode. Hold the "Power" button for two seconds to turn it back on.

hope this helps

Laptop can not boot,noisy hdd

Hello, welcome to Fixya!

It is obvious that the hdd of your laptop is defective. The HDD has some bad sectors which is most likely beyond repairs.

You need to replace the HDD of your laptop because the noise you are hearing is an indication that the HDD is defective.

I hope the above information is clear. If not clear, please let me know.

Regards.

I am trying to install my 1tb s2 samsung potable hard drive on my laptop but i wont install it

external HDD are plug and play devices and will be recognized automatically, the problem detecting large capacity drives like this relies on what type of hardware you are using (laptop itself). what I am trying to point is that old laptop only recognize lower capacity drives and thus have this issue.
but if you are using the latest hardwares and OS, just let me know so that i can pin point the problem.

My pc wont install windows vista i get a blue screen. i did a hard disk test and it failed and it said missing data or corrupt..

It seems like your hard drive might have failed. Please check to see if the drive is recognized by the BIOS: Press DEL at startup and try to find the HDD into the menus, see if it displays correctly.
If it's not there, you can try plugging it to another computer, and see if it can be recognized, if all this fails.

You need to purchase a new hard drive.

I have HP MINI after the last update from microsoft win seven, the display its not recognized as xwvga only as vga, this problem hide the windows bar.

That sounds like a driver problem to me, I'd start by rolling back the driver to the old one, if that doesn't work I'd outright replace it with a known working driver.
If you want to try this, push the pause/break key while holding the windows key, this opens the system window. From this window open the device manager. Once in the device manager, open the display adapters tab by clicking on it, right click on the actual display adapter and select properties. This opens another window, in this window click on the driver tab and hit roll back driver then restart the system. If this doesn't help you could tell windows to update driver. If all else fails (i.e. windows cant/wont update the driver) uninstall the driver completely and then go back to task man and click on actions, then scan for changes. Let plug-n-play reinstall the driver completely and restart. Hope this helps.

My computer wont detect the mp3 and connect

Is the player working normally otherwise?

If so, then try the player in a different USB port on your computer. When plugged in, the display of the Pearl should say that it is connected to a USB device and it will show up automatically as a removable external drive in your windows explorer.

If not, then upgrade the firmware in the unit and the computer will recognize it again. Download the firmware upgradefrom http://voxrightnow.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2243/related/1, and follow all the troubleshooting instructions that popup when you start the program:

start the program,
remove the battery,
hold the play button while plugging into usb,
release the play button the the term "initalizing" replaces "searching",
check the box that says "format data" (you can try it first without this checked, it may work and will save your music),
click the start button to replace the firmware.

After I did this, my pearl started normally, and my computer recognized it again.
