There is a spring that connects to the side of the door (both right and left) than connects to the holes on the bottom of the dishwasher frame. These springs have either fallen off or broken. To see the area where they connect you will need to remove the very bottom panels below the door. Look at the frame where the leg height adjustment screws are and you will see several holes in the frame the springs will most likely be right there and just need to be reconnected to the frame itself. If the springs are not there then the springs will more than likely be right at the bottom left and right side of the doors. These springs should be set in the 3rd hole back from the front if the door drop is still too fast set the spring further back on the frame.

Hope this helped

Door falls open, no restraints

Yes, I've fixed a few, and was unable to fix a few. You may need to remove the whole cover of the dishwasher to get to the insides. You should find either the springs are broken on both sides of the bottom of the door, or even more likely, the plastic parts between the springs and the body or the door have broken. The parts can be ordered from "Sears Parts" on the inter-net. You will need to provide the model number to look them up.
Be blessed.

Falls open when? This unit wom't operate unless the door is secure so I assume you mean the door assist springs are disconnected or broken and the door just falls heavily to the open position after you unlatch it from the closed position. Try these, part 18 here

should attach to frame in an easy to distinguish hole or slot and to door hinges, number 2 here

Frigidaire dishwasher Fdb4315lfc2 door

There are two springs that support the door and control the rate it falls and stops at. They are located at the base of the door. One on the left side and one on the right.

Slide the machine out. Usually held with screws directly into the underside of the counter. You may have to lower the unit by turning the feet. Most of the time you can just slide it out.

Look on the sides and you will see the springs. One or both will have come off. They should be hooked to a slot in the door hinge and the other end to a hole in the frame of the unit.

Over time they can become over stretched. If you put them back and the door drops too quickly and stops with a jar then replace the springs. Spring are springs so you can get them at a hardware store or parts supplier.

Hope this helps. Please rate this answer if it helps you.

The door to the dishwasher is very hard to close. The door also falls down to the floor which makes the carriage/basket fall down as well.

sounds like one or both of your door links are broken check your hinges. you should ahave a large spring and a piece of rope that attaches to the door. let me know if this helps you

Tablet falls to the bottom of tub but wont disolve

The newer Whirlpool dishwashers have little slots in the top of the soap dispenser to allow water to seep in during the first water fill. This design allows the tablet to begin to dissolve during the first fill then be usefull when the soap door opens. In your case, I would check to see if the soap dish is opening at all. Perhaps one of the racks are not allowing clearance or the soap door itself is sticking closed.

Let the dishwasher fill, drain, and then fill again. Open the door of the dishwasher and see if the soap door is still closed and if so, there is your problem. Also, at this time, check the water temperature. It should be at least 120 degrees F for the soap to be effective.

Hope this helps, Ken

Kitchaide Dishwash Door

There is normally 2 heavy springs & cables that control the "falling" of the door located in the bottom of the machine or it the door itself. Sounds like one (or both) have snapped.
