Question about Karcher K2.26 Electric Power Washer

1 Answer

Limited pressure since water is releasing from inside the unit. Also, the unit will NOT turn off when using the hand unit. Unit is only two years old. Do you have local service in the Chicago NW area (Barrington)?

Hot water varies

I do not know how old this unit is or what model but many water heaters are not sophisticated enough to measure the temperature, but heat based on water flow and temperature rise. To start, tankless water heaters turn off every time you turn the hot water off. Lets use an example. You use the facilities, wash your hands then turned off the water and take a shower. You will bring the already heated water (from washing your hands) from the pipe up to the shower. Then the cold water that comes into the pipe from the reactivation of the water heater comes up the hot water pipe with warm then hot water just behind.

If this is not your problem, keep reading. Every unit I have been called to see were installed wrong. Check your installation manual to see if the problem with the system started with the contractor.

First, check the temperature of the water from the heater. If it is too hot and you are mixing too much cold water in, the unit will turn off because there is not enough water flow to keep it running.

Second, turn off the valve at the water heater and turn on the hot water at a faucet. If the water does not stop running, there is a "plumbing cross over" usually caused by a failing pressure balance valve in a shower.

Third, if the unit has not been serviced, go to bosch-climate.us to find a tankless water heating professional in your area. Totally Tankless LLC

Goodman Heat Pump laing heat and loud noise

Taking a little bit of time for heat is normal but the "pressure" thing you are referring to leads me to believe that the reversing valve is getting stuck. You will here that "pressure release" noise with a reversing valve but it should not be happening 5 minutes after start up.

Excessive air pressure buildup that's blowing safety valve and can hear air leaking inside unit.this compressor is only about a year old!thankyou.

Excessive air pressure...if your safety valve is truely popping off, is caused by a bad pressure switch or a loose wire connection at the switch. It's a little odd to be leaking too. There is a couple a possibilities here. The most common spots for leakage is the "tube seal", the aluminum transfer/supply tube, or the outlet air hose. Usually a leak will keep a unit from acheiving full pressure causing the unit ot run continuously. The other common leakage spot is the "check valve" and a leak here usually makes the auto restart (upon using air from the tank, taking pressure below the set lower limit), not work, stalling the motor and popping a breaker. See ereplacementparts for a proper breakdown and identification of parts. Spliting the clamshell is a "pain in the neck" for these little units, but you"ll likely have to do that to find your internal leak. Carefully avoiding electrically exposed parts, spray a soapy water solution at suspected joints if the leak is not obvious.

I think that you need a new gear box. Your unit is 12 years old and the valve inside (the box) probably became separated from the "button" you pull down. Getting a new valve would solve your problem but, it would have to be installed inside the gear box. Since the gears may be worn (after 12 years) - I recommend a new gear box. This would solve your problem and prevent future "worn out" problems. This also saves you assembly of small parts.

I have a saniplus toilet, the macerating unit runs about every 2 minutes for 1-2 seconds at a time. I'ver replaced the flapper and even turned off the water to the unit and stopped using it, but it keeps...

Water pressure makes the unit kick on and off. Water could be leaking from the toilet tank into the bowl and from bowl into the pump. Or the check valve inside the discharge elbow (on top of the lid) may not be sitting properly or is being obstructed causing waste water to leak inside the pump, creating enough water pressure to make the unit kick on and off by itself.

K5.140 makes a revving noise when releasing the

Before you do the below steps check the water supply inlet screen for obstructions where the water hose connects to the unit. If you notice debris remove and clean the screen under running water with a small NYLON brush.

The bypass unloader valve is triggering earlier than it should. You can lubricate this by adding oil to the water supply inlet (at least 3 oz.) and very briefly switching the unit on then off 0.5 seconds. Then let is sit overnight. The next day connect power briefly and again cycle the unit on then off for 0.5 seconds. Connect the water supply and then purge the water wand hose into a bucket to catch the oil before use. After this restart the unit and operate the wand trigger under full pressure at 0.5 second intervals to ;scycle the bypass / unloader valve inside the pump. This method has worked in about 95\0 % of the machines I have worked on. The oil lubricates and fattens the seals in the bypass / unloader valve. It eihter works the first time or the seals are torn in the unloader valve and must be replaced. With only 3 uses I think your pretty much in the clear and will not need new seals.

Thanks for using FixYa.

I 'm trying to pull the rope and it will barely--honda pressure w

The rope may be bound up in the recoil. Take the recoil cover off(the piece where the pull rope goes into) and try to pull the rope with the housing off. If it pulls freely try turning the engine by hand, you may want to remove the spark plug to release the compression. If the unit will not turn over, then the pressure pump may have failed. Best of luck.

Water coming in stops short of the proper level - not enough water comming in to clean properly. I have to add water.

most dishwashers fill level is determined by time.
If the water pressure is to low, or the flow is restricted by sand or rust cloging the water valve, the unit will not fill with enough water to clean the dishes.

if you are willing to try, and you can use basic hand tools, you might be able to clean a clogged water valve.
first make sure the ELECTRICAL POWER to the unit is up-plugged or turned off. turn off water supply.

Valve is located under unit most can be reached by removing panel on lower front of unit. disconnect water pipe at valve and look for a filter screen inside the valve, remove it, clean it, reinstall it. now reconnect water pipe, and turn water and power back on look under unit and check for water leaks before reinstalling panel.

Water leaking into machine

it's possible, like mine with the same problem, that one or more of the plastic feet under the water tank has broken, then making the tank move and upsetting the valve underneath. My one always leaks clean water, never dirty and I have a broken foot.
