Not likely, if the regular alphabet and numbers don't work then there is something sticky spilled under the keys.
you can remove the back and the membrane and wipe it clean. takes a bit of work.

Try using CTRL, ALT, DELETE. It sounds like you may have locked your
keyboard by accident. Once you hit CTRL, ALT, DELETE, it will bring up the
log in page. Simply enter your password, if any, and you should be good to
go.

Welcome to FixYa.

As a standard troubleshooting for wireless devices please do the following:
  • Restart your computer.
  • Open note pad and test your keyboard.
  • See if the keyboard functions properly.
  • Open MS word and test your keyboard.
  • See if it functions properly.

Tell me the results in Notepad and MS Word so that I can determine if it's the macro in MS Word that turns the INSERT and NUMPAD key off.

Cordless Keybaord - Some keys not functioning

Could be interference from a wireless device using the same frequency. Locate any other wireless keyboard/mice from the vacinity and try it again. Also, push the connect button on the bottom of the keyboard and see if that helps. Also make sure the base station of the keyboard is close enough to the keyboard/mouse.

Wireless 1000 keyboard not supporting standard Windows F-keys

I had the same problem. I just could not get the "Alt-F4" function to work in a macro.

In the Macro Editor, in the lower center, you will see the "Z" actions. I realized I wanted the "Press and hold Z" function.

To get this, use "Inserting Special..." function to insert the Alt key stroke in the macro.

Then highlight the Alt in the Editor. Right Click and select "Split."

This will put the "Press and hold Z key" and "Release Z key" icons in the Editor.

What you want is the "Press and hold" function. Delete any other references the the Alt key.

Then enter the F4 key, and there you have it.

Hope this all makes sense to you.

Check to see if your shift, control, alt, or other modifier keys are stuck on your keyboard. These can cause your keyboard to act erratically. Also, if this is a wireless keyboard, you may need to change the batteries, as this can also cause a keyboard to act erratically.
